At the edge of one of the colonizes systems of the Jinaris Empire, whose placement puts it closer to the capital than to the border of the Empire itself, there'd be something awfully interesting going on.
Using their precursor-tech inspired sensors and other detection or observation arrays, they'd take notice of a particular small region of space, one that didn't really fit.
That specific bubble was really emanating some weird signals, the space there seemingly turning over itself, shifting, percolating in ripples of uncertainty, it was a sea of anomalies contained within a small area, one of the likes that not even the few and sparse precursor data caches ever read about, truly something unexpected and unseen for the scientists of the Empire.
Nevertheless as it started so it had to end, but this particular anomaly, though ending before any ship could reach it, did leave something behind: A small ship, fighter-esque in style, smooth-black in hull, and silent in communications. It lay there idle, awaiting for someone to contact it.
