They go back towards the elevator without much trouble, and the elevator automatically closes and moves upwards again, opening up to the place where their ship is.

The thing speaks to them all, but doesnt seeme to use air vibrations to convey its message: it seems to be telepathic. A smooth, soothing voice can be heard as Alfred takes initiative:

Captain Olandas crossed his arms: The main comms ray is down. The only way that we did make contact with you is the emergency comms and that has a limited range so we can't contact our HQ. As of right now the UFI are gonna send a scout to our last reported location before we hit the asteriod field. We have to stay in this area. To top all of that we have no allies in any solar system in a couple galaxies away so we are alone here for now.
