The woman nodded and then turned towards the central projector...
"Very well, then we´ll move on."
The holoprojector sprung to live showing first the emblem of the Keepers for a few moments, then opening the file of the presentation, the presentation of Avathurn...
A few moments later it showed a distant image of their upcoming enemy, Avathurn, the ship was large, blackish grey metal covering it´s entire surface, ominous green lines with unknown purposes glowing on the edges of the colossus, it did really look like a precursor vessel...
Ludraven began talking again in a calm voice...
"This as you can probably guess, is Avathurn. According to our current information it is roughly about as old as the universe, plus minus a few dozen millenia, the mentions and reports are inconsistent on it´s size but the most common ones put it at somewhere between 300 and 400 kilometres of total length. originally it was a worldship of a particularly advanced race, a race which, as you can guess, is unknown to us. Apparently due to an incident at the borders of this universe, whose details are sadly beyond our grasp due to the time difference, the ship seemed to have, changed in an unexpected way, it went not only rogue, but utterly berserk and since that time it has shown up in a large variety of places all across the to us known space and sowed terror and destruction wherever it appeared."
She paused and the image changed, the white glowing orbs were marked with red lines, showing some additional information on the right side of the screen, labeling them 'Singularity drives' and 'Singularity array'...
"I will now talk about the construction of Avathurn for a while, as least as far as our information allows it, so you can better understand what we´re up against, following that there will be a short rundown of the battletactics
and time to discuss and ask more questions."
She paused for a brief moment, then continued.
"Our targets main propulsion method appears to be it´s singularity drives, seen commonly amongst ancients, they are paired with a set of singularity arrays, which seemed to be focused on accelleration. That being said, the singularity drives of the ship are near indestructible, so attacking them is rather pointless."
The image changed again, this time highlighting the connections between the rings, providing some additional information about them under the names of 'External Armor Layer' and 'Weapon Platforms'...
"The different sections of Avathurn are connected by it´s outer frame, it is heavily armored and houses a large part of the weaponry, it is a low to mid priority target. The material of the armor is unknown to us, it is highly durable but by no means indestructable, these sections house the 'Kinetic Pulse Cannons' a low to mid range weaponry which can bypass shields, however, heavy armor seems to provide a far better resistence against them.
This sction also houses the launch platforms for it´s FTL-AM-mines, devastating mid to long range weaponry usually fired in volleys, advanced point defense systems are mandatory against these, however, heavy shields should be capable of takinga few hits of them before breaking down, make sure you don´t get hit by a full volley, you will have a few moments to react, so it is advised to redirect energy to the shields to protect against the volleys."
She paused for another moment.
"Lastly in these sections there are apaprently also a decent number of AM-Sub-armor turrets, that retract behind the armor after each firing sequence, they are only short range, so nothing to worry about for those at mid and long range, but should be taken into account when making attack runs in closer proximity."
Next, three parts of the backsection were highlighted, two of them seemed to be completely seperated from the ship, these were labeled as 'Kinetic Dampeners, External Armor & Weapon Platforms' and the rear section as 'Sensory Array & Rear Weapons Platform', Ludraven continued...
"The Kinetic Dampeners protect one of the two mainsections of the ship, they project additional shields, absorb kinetic impacts and double up as weapons platforms, in this case it is mostly AM-Sub-armor turrets, due to the defensive nature of the wings.
The backsection is also heavily armored and liek teh wings it houses a sizable number of AM-Sub-armor turrets, as well as the ships sensory array, should we be able to destroy that, it might affect Avathurns targeting systems, sadly we are not a hundred percent sure about that due to the ominous nature of our enemy, it would be a hard task in any csae as all systems are internal, but to be frank, what isn´t a hard task in this case?"
Once more the image changed...
This time it was the outer rings of different sections, the larger one was labeled as 'Primary Shield Ring' band the smaller ones 'Secondary Shields Rings'...
"These, are the main shield rings of Avathurn, each of them projecting shields of tremendous strength, obviously, with the shields on we can´t deal much damage to Avathurn himself, due to the death zone near Avathurn we also can´t take out the generators themselves preemptively, it´s shields will have to be taken down manually, luckily, the shields do not seem to recharge in battle, so once they are taken down we can deala significant amount of damage. Notably, should we be able to damage the shield rings in one of the encounters after taking down the shields themselves, it is likely the shields will be weaker in the next encounter. So they are a mid priority target."
...next, the inner rings were highlighted the primary and secondary 'AI-Core Rings'...
"These, are the AI-Core rings, as far as we´re aware those run most of the internals of the ship from the technical side, weapon systems, shields, sensors, propulsion, integrity fields and so forth. It has no additional weapon emplacements but is heavily armored. Therefor, these are a high priority targets once the shields are down. From what we have gathered from reports of the past, each of Avathurns AI cores is a closed system and therefor unable to be hacked, furthermore, should one ring be destroyed the others can take it´s task with ease, so be careful when attacking and don´t do something stupid like an all out attack just to take out a singular ring."
Again the highlights changed, this time marking the centerpiece of the frontsection, considering the exclamation marks before and after the text, this section was extraordinarily important, the pieces were labeled 'Gestalt Framesections' ...
The woman looked at the projection for a brief moment herself, then she turned back and continued, though somewhat slower than before...
"These... are the Gestalt-Framesections, this... is what makes 'Avathurn' what he is, we cannot fully comprehend how this section of his operates, but we knows it is essentially his 'brain' of sorts, his consciousness, if you´d like to call it that. This is our main priority target, if we can take this section out, Avathurn will disappear for several millenia, possibly even longer, in order to recover from it´s damages."
She paused for a moment.
"Now, to the problematic parts. With his Gestalt fields Avathurn is capable of bending reality to his will, only to a certain extend, but he is capable of it. Which obviously leads to quite a few issues. first off the offensive use of his capabilities, starting at short range.
The first thing worth mention is the exact same reason why his immediate proximity is a deathzone, it seems to have been refered to as 'Gestalt-Shredder-Pulse' and looking at the effects we have taken over that name. It´s effects are quite obvious, everything the sizeof a fighter or bigger within a certain raneg of Avathurn will immediatly be locked on by him and torn to pieces with the brute force of his gestalt, there are barely any known defences known to work against this and none of them are at our disposal, therefor it is mandatory to stay out of his immediate proximity, under all circumstances. the pulse can lash out to a longer short range, however the effects are less severe in that case, it is still advised to avoid it.
The next weapon is the Gestalt-Pulse-Emitter, a weapon altering the energy levels in a localized area to fire an intense beam of raw focused energy, it is a quite potent weapon and usually used at mid-range a decent shielding is advised as it will burn through even highly ablative armor almost immedietly.
Another mid range weapon is are the Gestalt-Subspace-Plasma cannons, from our understanding it gathers Subspace plasma and forms it into large projectiles, there are two different kinds, one that is turning material once the projectile is formed, these are quite potent but can be defended against with decent shielding or sufficiently heat resistent armor, the second type is arguably far more dangerous, it will not turn material until it reaches a ships hull or even internals and then immediatly detonate once turning material, which usually destroys the affected ship, luckily, the second type of projectiles travel relatively slowly, so you have a decent amount of time to take evasive manouvers.
Lastly, there is the Gestalt-Decay-Lance, the use of this Lance is usually indicated by energy gathering around Avathurn, trying to avoid the Lance is usually only possible by doing a tactical jump shortly before the firing sequence, should a ship get hit if it´s shields and armor are not at maximum it is likely it will be incapacitated on hit, additionally everything along the firing path can suffer the side effects of agraze shot, weakening their armor for subsequent hits. smaller vessels might be outright destroyed if hit or grazed, so stay clear of the firing line, unless you know what you´re doing.
These were all of the offensive uses Avathurns Gestalt has, at least as far as we know."
She paused for few moments apparently recollecting her thoughts and words...
"There are a few more things on the defensive side of the Gestalt that have to be added though.
Firstly Avathurn seems to be capable of locking on ultra long range attacks and straight up delete them from reality, null them or completely displace them, we are actually not entirely sure, the effects are however the same, which creates a maximum combat distance, more about that later.
Secondly, Avathurn is capable of doing a similar thing even to attacks that are not outside maxium combat range, however, he can do so only very limited, therefor it is advised to coordinate fire of heavy weapons for maximum effects, more on this later as well.
Lastly, via the help of his Gestalt, Avathurn can repair a considerable amount of damages between battles, that is however only possible if his shields have not been taken down, therefor it is important that, even if we don´t deal too much damage in an encounter, that we at least take down the shields, to avoid his selfrepair and a possibly endless battle, if his shields are taking down he will focus on recovering them , giving us time to take down the shields again and then possibly deal more severe damage in the next encounter."
She paused one last time and looked around...
"Any questions so far or should I continue with the tactical plans?"
