The artillery had mixed effects. The thin top of the walkers made them a difficult target for orbital artillery. It had effect on the infantry, but limited. Imperial forces now held several hundred square meters on many areas, and both the southern and northern main fronts held and burned down more then 300 square meters of the city world. Imperial forces that failed to link up before the mobilization found themselves pinned harder. Tanks and Walkers fell trough the rubble and explosions, mopped up by the army. On the north, Imperial forces were pushing hard, constant laser fire pinning down british infantrymen and tanks opening through the lines of the army, pushing foward where ever possible. On the south, the scorched earth was way mire intense, as they focused on the industrial buildings, as well as libraries and institutions. Pushing at every advantage, securing more choke points surrounded by rubble and fire, they were stretchung themselves more and more, destroying everything in its wake. At this point, dozens of thounsands civilians on Gnar had lost their lives, their homes burned and their bodies covered by the rubble, more and more died as the army was unable to stop the horde of imperial forces, at least for the time being.
