Lafiel I respectfully disagree somewhat. While you are correct that these genres use run-of-the-mill tech in a manor speaking or at least when compared to other genres like Star Wars, Star Trek, and Warhammer, the tech in Halo and The Expanse still has quite a few differences that set them apart from the vanilla stuff in Cosmoteer. For example, in The Expanse, there is a common weapon used on ships such as the MCRN Donnager: The rapid reload torpedo tube. This weapon is extremely long range and can be switched (like a vanilla missile launcher sort of) to fire flechette, nuke, plasma (for melting armor), and HE. In my opinion, if implemented into Cosmoteer they would be a very distinct weapon. The other main weapons in The Expanse are the turreted railgun and the PDC or Point Defense Cannon. While Cosmoteer has railguns and they are powerful and long range, the railguns in The Expanse are mounted as a turret, extremely high power (you would be hard pressed to find an Expanse railgun that doesn't always punch right through a ship), and fairly long range. Then there are the PDC's. These are arguably the most generic weapon in The Expanse and yet they still cannot be matched even remotely with a part in Vanilla. These cannons are larger than vanilla point defense, have much higher range and power, and fire ballistic tungsten ammunition. I could write a bunch about Halo's various distinct weaponry but that would be a lot. My point is, while The Expanse and Halo are closer to vanilla Cosmoteer than a lot of other genres, they are still quite distinct. I would love to see and Expanse mod (so much in fact that I started learning how to code just to make one). Love ABH btw.
