The Delta fleet still sat in-between systems, waiting for anyone to jump and be caught within their interdiction. No nation present in G-S16 short of perhaps TIE could lay minefields across two systems, due to the distance that measures in the millions of millions of kilometers, it'd be an undertaking of massive proportions, way bigger than building a Dyson Sphere or a Death Star, and way less lucrative.
They, however, did not sit in the secret path, but the well-announced path between systems, since that was the obvious one. They did, however, lay oblivious to what was happening, and lay in await of another ship, this time, hopefully, not automated.
