So with the new crew job and priority feature at hand I think it's possible to introduce a stopgab solution which will allow custom game mechanics to disable the members of a squad.
I think the best and convenient way is to use custom global buffs to control it. It would be an additive buff were it's total value equals the number of crew to be disabled.
Hence, the component would be set to the buff and the game would randomly disable crews of squads set to the buff. When disabled the crew simply won't do any job. It would be nice if the feature can optionally kill the crew.
