Dumb (Hope you don't mind me bringing two groups in, couldn't decide which side to join. 😅
'Sektorkommandant' is no name but a rank, just for clarification. Don't mind all the text, I won't do that much again.)
[1.Macross Frontier; a single GSR troop transport]
Thanks to the relay stations scattered accross the galaxy, the transmission from Macross Frontier eventually arrives at Klein-Glogau. Due to the Sektorkommandant's absence, his superior recieves the message and searches the archives for any information about Frontier, quickly findingt a document written by the Sektorkommandant himself. Michael decides to contact him about the message and orders his ship's AI to relay the original transmission and his own words to Gabriel.
//Internal transmission start//
"Hello Gabriel, I know you're busy finding our old soldiers, but I just recieved a message from a faction you worked with some time ago. I can take care of stuff here while you're gone, the details are attached to the transmission."
"Say it's really okay to have me go on a mission while we're at war and still lack men? The mission seems interesting and I already contacted some of the scout units, but beeing this careless might backfire.
Hey boss, did something happen?
No, just a potential mission for me.
Mind us joining in? Waiting while you are gone always annoyed us and we could use some proper training again.
Well, guess I'll have to ask my boss first.
Michael, you heard them. Think I might bring unit Omega with me?"
"I'll consider this a training mission then. Noone will know what you're doing and all of you are getting their full payment. You will be fine, just don't take too long."
"Thank you, really. I'm sending our coordinates, shifting us over there should be faster."
"Understood. Good luck to all of you."
//Internal transmission end//
Just as the transmission ends, the control AI of the frigate 'Oblivion' starts speaking.
AI: "Coordinates recieved, awaiting orders."
Michael: "Trace the source of the transmission of Macross Frontier and shift-warp the object at the recieved coordinates to that position."
AI: " Preparing shift-warp... 70%; Tracing signal... Completed; Verifying position... Completed; Sending Pinger to locate safe arrival position...; Answer recieved, initiating shift-warp."
20 silver spheres, only 8 cm in diameter, suddenly appear at the position of whatever sent the transmission and quickly vanish again, getting replaced with a single GSR troop transporter.
The ship sends a transmission at the closest ship/station/planet or whatever else is in the vicinity.
//Transmission start//
"This is GSR shuttle 3671 to hopefully Macross Frontier, we recieved your transmission and are here to help."
//Transmission end//
[3.Vajra; flagship/super freighter 'Event Horizon']
Beeing curious about those rumors he heard of and finally having enough free time, the mysterious entity only known as 'Oldie' decided to assemble his best workers, contacts and whoever else was lucky enough to be chosen and head towards the last known position of the Vajra, believing the rumors of an infected Vajra and hoping to get answers or at least some more hints from them. Trading not only with psysical wares but also knowledge would be enough reason to hunt down something as mysterious as the 'Red Comet', but the old man actually has a more personal reason: He is extremely interested in mysterious powers and beeings, knowing of the devastating powers of some and trying his best to gather and guard anything potentially threatening the universe he is part of.
The people on the bridge get ready as the last of the crewmembers finally moves through the airlock, closing all hangar bays, retracting the connection with the starbase the ship was sitting at, checking all ssystems and charging the advanced wormhole generator Oldie got for his personal masterpiece. While the ship looks like it was made from scrap parts, it features everything a trading company specialised on rare and illegal wares aswell as weapons and other combat gear could need on their mobile headquarters, from oversized storage rooms with forcefield cranes to meeting rooms and hangar bays for smaller freighters or escort ships.
As the masked man on the commanders seat finally stands up, all other present people fall silent and look at him, waiting for him to start speaking. He instead pushes some buttons on the console in the left armrest of his chair, causing some crackling through the 100 meters long ship. It is then that his deep but calming voice echoes through the entire ship.
Oldie: "The time has come. Some of you knowing me a bit longer might remember the first time I went on a mission like this, but thinks have changed, I have gathered many new co-workers around me and sadly lost some of my old friends. However, this times we are on a different mission, this time we will hunt down the mystery known as the 'Red Comet' and hopefully gain another piece of valuable knowledge.
We'll first meet the Vajra, several contacts assume our target to be a mutated form of their race so that might be a good start. Avoid hostilities and remember that all of you are representing this entire group, made up of the talented individuals I am honored to know. And myself, of course."
Looking through the room, he finds the leader of his bodyguards give him a mocking look, causing him to stop.
Oldie "Hey, you know I'm bad at this. Why don't you continue from here, Henry?"
Henry: "Well, I'm getting paid for stuff like this anyway, so..."
The rather young man with blue eyes and blonde hair, wearing a silver full-body combat suit with retractable visor, walkes next to his boss and the hidden microphone to finish the speech of sorts.
Henry: "I'm only saying this once, so everyone better listens.
We're gonna track down this odd 'Red Comet', find out who or what it is and give it a scan. If anything interesting happens on the way, all the better for us.
First rule: Ask first, shoot second. And avoid killing if possible, we can get sued for that.
Second: Bloody behave yourselves. Each of you now represents our company and I will not tolerate anyone disgracing us. I also refuse to work with idiots, but that shouldn't be an issue here.
Third: Each and every one of you is considered expendable for this mission. Deal with it.
Any questions? No? Great! Now, get ready."
He hits the button to stop the transmission and returns to his spot in the control room.
Oldie: "Well, you heard him. Let's get going then."
Seconds later, the massive gavity thrusters flare up and a wormhole opens up in front of the ship, sending it to its target destination several light seconds from the most recently spotted group of Vajra.
(PS: If you actually read the entire text, 'Sorry for the long text, wanted to make it at least somewhat detailed.'. If not, 'Why did I even bother writing that much?')
