Quiral seems to be rather dissapointed.

“You are a foolish individual, just leave the table if war is that easy for you.

Even if people destroyed a station of mine, I would still try to negotiate, instead of war, as it should be avoided at all times.

Since now, we have millions of lives lost, for what?!

"You say that like we did not try negotiation, it was made very clear in the meeting prior to the skirmish at the Anvil was to be avoided and solved diplomatically where possible. We endeavoured to avoid a fight, but it became an inviable option. Millions of lives may have been lost, but on a Galactic scale it is a small amount the had it brought upon themselves one way or another, which has caused this negotiation which may save countless more. If you consider the most diplomatic approach envisionable, with due diligence to avoid what did transpire, a crime; then you truly are mistaken."

Let me ask you, what did the Anvil before we all discovered it? And how long was it present in this Galaxy?

It was here for maybe millions of years, and we didnt even know, as their presence was little to nothing. And the moment we discovered it, all of us became paranoid of what the center was, and destroyed it weeks later.

And you say they brought it on themselves?”

He looks at the Voidborn, with even more dissapointment.

Quiral: “We could have just left, after the negotiation failed, and all would be fine, war was avoided.

Yet we continued, and attacked, and waged war on one another, like foolish children.

And what did we get out of it?”

A rumbling crack of thunder interrupts both of the diplomats. The Imperial representative seems to be reaching the end of her relatively short fuse...

"Regardless of justifications and obfuscations, the conflict occurred. While we do acknowledge that Admiral Herok was perhap premature in her assault, the point remains that fire would have been exchanged. You and your allies would not have relented, and the Admiral would not have allowed you to pass through her positions. In this, all were at fault."

She visibly struggles to rein herself in. "As to your statement, Ultharin, I would remind you that despite the show of military force at the Anvil, the Imperium exists on a razor's edge of balance at the moment as the Senate solidifies its grasp on the territories. As such, we cannot give you anything in the way of exceedingly substantial guarantees such as territory or a military presence. Unless you had another option in mind?"

Alcara looks displeased at both of the two faction leaders. He is unspeaking, containing his anger. All Arz'ians at heart know the fierce anger they must control, but even so, it takes it's toll to control it.

To the Voidborn, he interjects.

"Before you begin spreading lies about my actions, you were just about to attack the station as well. We were not tasked to destroy the station, but to neutralise it. The Yazari were the ones that destroyed the station, after FTLing into the cannons, they backfired and the core was shot. If anything, the Yazari have considered their actions and ruled that they are fully responsible for destroying the station and have condemned themselves to disable their attack force for five years, shutting down major connections with GS-16 and logistically exiling themselves for a period of time."

"The Xor fleets were intended for one thing only: Infiltrate and destroy the defences of the Imperium. And that they did. However, they did not initiate or communicate with the Yazari ships to FTL into the cannons. That was their decision. If you want to hold them responsible, then by all means, do that. But have it on the record that your intel is false."

He sighs and turns to face Quiral.

"You cannot blame us for the actions taken by one of the other leaders, a temporary leader in fact. It should have been your responsibility to intervene once knowing that an attack was taking place on the Anvil, if you truly care about negotiations over war."

He flickers a bit as he checks something on his desk. Then, he turns to the Imperial Representative, a little ticked off at her inability to control her temper and patience.

"If you care so much about resolving this conflict, then you should make reservations for these types of events. You should not say 'cannot' because you can, you just don't want to. You want to prioritise your needs, while ignoring the consequences of losing this battle upon your empire. There are many things you have ignored and perhaps this is why you lost the battle."

Ultharin simply waits, clearly quite angry from his demeanour but not showing much outwardly for the moment...
"I shall leave that little argument aside, and yes it was the Yazari and not the Xorxian. In any case imperium, I do have suggestions but I feel voicing them may well be more likely to offend you and start a war"

"We will not take accusations of having fired first." Ambassador Xin retaliates to the Voghus, with a clear angry tone in his voice, and his face almost glowing red in anger, however he cools down after a few minutes, before softly stating in a calm and chill voice,

"We wouldn't have fired without good reason. We wouldn't have fired upon the exploding Imperial Transports, but the Admiral on the other end fired on us and he destroyed most of the fleet, and we responded accordingly." Xin cleared up to the Voghus. Prior to the combat starting, it was true that most of the Illateri weapons were powered down, the shields were raised as a precautionary measure however the allied lines could clearly see that their weapons were off by simply looking at the camera and viewscreen.

"It is true that we brought a fleet, yes, however we didn't make the opening move. Now, can you please stop with this and get back to the matter of averting all-out war?"

"Were I so easily offended, I would be in the fleet, master Ultharin. Speak them, and have done with it."

"Considering the somewhat heated situation, I thought it best to make warning of it. I would suggest, then, that you do one of the following: You disarm yourselves from all offensive weapons, or you submit to an authority of your choosing as a vassal state under which you can be monitored and restricted. It may sound extreme but it seems like it would certainly allow an initial basis for peace."

She breaks into a smooth, rolling laugh. "So casually you speak of disarming us or reducing us to mere puppets! Truly, the Voidborn should be renowned across the galaxy for their skills at jests! But no. Neither of these will do. We might consider ceding border worlds to be held in thrall for a neutrality, but that is the limits of our tolerance."

Quiral: “You speak like you want war...

I say, that we are just as bad as The Imperium, as this war was caused by all of us combined.

we brought our fleets to The Anvil, have we not? While it wasn’t even needed in the first place.

The Imperium might have fired the first shots, but we brought our fleet here, creating tension and intimidation.”

He looks at The Imperium.

Quiral: “Perhaps peace can be achieved without any disarming or supervision.”

"True peace can never be achieved when we have military weapons on hand. But I agree, we need to find a solution that suits everyone."

He sighs and whispers under his breath.

"Which is about as likely to happen as the Raeli giving us flowers and saying sorry."

"And again with the squabbling! While we admit and acknowledge that Admiral Herok fired first, we do not apologize for this. The Admiral did what she believed necessary. However, at this point, we feel that all of us should move past the conflict at the Anvil and look towards some method of forestalling war in the future between our powers."

And then you claim you want the best deal for everyone?”
