We talked about it before and you dismissed saying that it already works this way but I didn't have time to write up about it at the time.

When you fire with direct control projectile weapons and constantly moving in a certain direction, without moving cursor or rotating ship, projectiles will eventually pass through the cursor. Now you might think that it's what I meant - but it's not, because cursor is moving constantly with the ship as well.

What I meant and suggested is to have a mode so weapons aim at the point under the cursor - imagine a stationary target under the cursor - it's the target I want weapons to track in this mode, that way if you are constantly moving and aim at a spot, projectiles (if they are able to) will pass through that constant spot fixed at the time of firing and not pass under the cursor.

Nordwolf You got to be more precise and detailed : is it a point on the map; or relative to your ship; or relative to the target ship or relative to the mouse or a specific part or is it always fixed or not; when should it change or not; or how long will it last or does it reset or how should it do it or does it need a special marker so people don't get confused etc.

Lafiel Imagine putting a stationary target onto the grid every time you shoot. Weapons try to shoot at the target behind cursor - stationary spot on the grid that constantly changes when you move your cursor. I am suggesting for this to become an option.

I understand what you're asking for now, but I don't understand why?

I think it would be much nicer to use when you only have to think about predicting enemy motion instead of only yours, and it would be easier to aim at stationary targets. I think it would be more of an alternative to the mode where you don't directly control weapons than to the one where you control every one.

Right now I find using projectile weapons in direct control mode quite ineffective, and this suggestion would help it make it more intuitive (imo) and convenient to use.

Okay I understand, I'll think about it!

I'm also tentatively planning to add an (optional default on) "aim assist" to direct control where your weapons will actually target the thing nearest your mouse cursor.
