"Very well then, it appears that I've joined this team of research towards the bell, and I've no complaints. Now tell me, however, is there anything special to be said about this bell? Forged by some mystical means? gifted from someone? Any kind of backstory?"

The mayor shrugs.
"To my knowledge, it is just a church bell, an exceptionally fine one however, I knew the man who forged it, his name was Bertram Gigli, he was from one of the cities in the east, a place called Sponsz. Unfortunately he died to the pox many years ago, otherwise I would be asking him for his opinions. It is pure brass, a material that is plentiful, but highly prized due to the fact that all ores belong to the crown, and as such must be bought from the king's estate."

"The bell had an extraordinary psychic resonance compared to other objects found so far."
Nurian rose from the chair...
"I suppose it is time to leave then."
He was about to leave the room, but halted, turning his head to hte major once more...
"Can you prepare a few rods of iron or steel and let them be brought to the churchtower? If everything works as intended you will receive them back intact again afterwards."

"The whatever's granted its powers must have done so afterwards, now, it's either the locality or an entity, and the locality always comes down to an entity or an object, so that's what we must search for."

The Ambassador gets up from his chair, it seems he's gathered quite a lot of experience from using his own powers, and seeing other's powers as well

"We must get a move on."

Cedric nods and stands.
"I will attend to it, thank you for being so cooperative gentlemen."
He walks to the door and opens it, standing to one side, and smiles at them, although there is no warmth in it, it does not seem so fake this time.

Nurian walks outside, heading towards the church, though stopping by Cecil on the way out...
"Cecil, do you know by any chance of any old maps of the world and where I could acquire such things?"

"Very well then, I'll be going to the church then."

The Ambassador leaves the room, and, like he said, heads to the church.

"There was a really, really large monster that came out of the water in the haven, and everyone shot at it and it just.. killed them all and then.."

He looks awkward and scratches his head.
"Whil I'sn daesn't knae aboot tha', I wus jes' visitin me aunt."
The official looking man sniffs.
"People like you should be forced to take notice, you are nothing but a lazy do-nothing."
"Dae yae whant a bunch o' fives mate?"
"Clearly you have just proved my point as you have resorted to threatening violence when you cannot proceed with a discussion."
The farmer looks like he wants to hit the official, but eventually just shuts up and stares gloomily at the fire, the official sniffs again.

"Who are ya anyways?"

He looks apologetic.
"I am sorry Mr Nurian, however cartography is a relatively recent development here, they might have some old maps in the archive at Slock, however any that you find would merely be small area maps, I believe that our first atlas was only compiled last year, anything earlier is exclusively local."

He looks thoughtful...
"Hm...unfortunate, I suppose I shall take a look at 'Slock' at a later point, should it still be necessary then, thank you for your help."
He heads outside, proceeding to the church...

The rain is colder than earlier, and a harsh wind blows it almost horizontally into their faces as they make their way down to the church, when they arrive they see three workmen in oilskins standing outside in the churchyard under a small canopy that has been erected over the tower door. The Gargoyle looks up at the tower for a few seconds, blinking the rain out of it's eyes, then pads into the churchyard, the workers looking at it in amazement.

The Ambassador approaches the workers and asks where the bell is.

Nurian walks over to the tower, trying to find out what it looks like currently kadn mor eimprtantly, what the bell looks like currently...

They gesture inside the tower.
"Thaer et us, rather yae than me."
The tower is in pretty much the same shape as when Nurian left it, except that the floor has been cleared of the splintered wood, the bell stands upright where it landed, and the two can see that the stone around it's base has actually been melted and re-cooled so that it is physically fused to the floor, whenever one of them looks at the bell, the surface seems to shimmer slightly, and they see shadowy forms out of the corner of their eyes. The gargoyle stays back in the doorway, eyeing the bell oddly with it's head slightly tilted to one side, maybe it is experiencing the same phenomena.

He sniffs, then talkes out a large white handkercheif and blows his nose noisily.
"I do not believe that is any of your concern madam."

(The heat was only a feeling, it wouldn't have hurt anyone who felt it, more like knowledge that there is a fire far off. The tower is not destroyed, only part of the staircase.)

Through Nurian's scanner, it is obvious that the manner of the fluctuation has changed, it now seems to emanate from the bell in waves, rather than the steady leech of before, and it is a much more intense concentration of psi energies. The longer they both look at the bell, the deeper the shadows become, and then they hear it, almost simultaneously. There is a quiet whispering sound, and the bell seems to ring, quietly, and in a high, single note, the shadows seem to creep in to form tunnels before their eyes...

"Hmmmm, shadows? Possesion, maybe? Some kind of soul infusion?"

The Ambassador's hand hovers slightly over the bell, trying to peer into its psychic signature, like if they were waves of overlapping frenquency, The Ambassador's mind untangled them, seeing if the separationg of said waves resulted in different beings.

Nurian watched the bell for a while, looking if he could make out anything specific amongst the shadows, then eventually decided to scan the bell again, comparing it to the data he collected before, trying to find out wether there were any changes and if, what these were...

The single wave emanating from the bell hits him like a brick in the forehead, causing spots to appear before his eyes, and he has a feeling of overwhelming heat for a second...

The Ambassador's very nature disregards the heat, it seems that whatever could make him feel suffering for an ammount of heat would also scorch the surface of the planet to a crisp. However, he does get it that a powerful being must inhabit the bell, maybe it was time to use one of his most prized habilities...

But first, he must rest.

He sits on the corner of the destroyed tower, looking at the bell.

The man blows his nose again, staring at the fire, he swats something that was trying to bite him and tuts. Jem pokes at the fire with a stick.
"So who are our otherworldly visitors then Mr Heinrich? I've never seen such queer folk, are they made of metal?"

They both hear a short, and unpleasant sound, then there is the feeling that the world has just been screwed up like a ball of paper and tossed away, and the shadows dissapear, the surface of the bell seems to lose it's sheen, and becomes mere bronze again, and the ringing stops. The Gargoyle pads into the room and emits a growl like that of a dog, staring at The Ambassador intently.
