There is a man who looks very similar to the barkeeper standing by the door, wearing yellow oilskins that drip onto the carpet, he looks surprised when he sees the Ambassador, and mutters something under his breath.
"Whul I nuvver, they'ns two 'o em naw."

...Coming face to face with a pair of startled guardsmen who had been sitting on the small wooden rampart, their backs against the wall.
"JAYSUS!"
"Bloody 'ellfire tais an attack!"
They jump up, one of them pointing some sort of black powder pistol at her, the other unsheathing a sword.

The gatekeeper hobbles outside again.
"I'll saen ma good washes wi' ye, tra'el safe knoa."
The cobbled street up to the inn is all but empty, but there are a few people who have braved the rain to go about their business, and who look at the two in astonishment before hurrying by, they soon see the inn, which has a sign depicting some sort of giant winged lizard on it, there is a cart outside that is tethered to two beasts, looking like cows, but with single horns in their foreheads and a mouth that seems to open like a starfish, and is currently doing so as the two beasts chew the cud.
