BattleCruiserCommander
Response is probably too long to read, should I post?
eh whatever
Commodore Constum Astalis sat in his Captain's Chair, metallic, with bits of plastic-steel mixed in. He was assigned, along with the ISV Light In The Dark, one of the oldest 'Spear' cruisers in service, and the 14th Cruiser Squadron, to patrol an area near the old Scavangers territory, an area that has long-since been abandoned since they mysteriously vanished from G-S16.
The middle, aging man was from Vixia, one of the fortress worlds at the outer edge of Sovereignty space. He lived quite a normal life, and he was approaching seventy years old, which is not very old in terms of the Sovereignty. Inspired by tales of war from his fathers, and grandfathers, and their grandfathers, he joined the fleet at age twenty seven, and eventually he rose to the ranks of Commodore, a few months after his quick visit to aid an explorer in a corvette. Turns out, space was boring - trillions of miles of boring during peace-time.
And he was still bored, with nothing to do on his chair - he got used to the feeling of doing nothing for months on end. The last time he hoped to get something exciting was a few years ago, when he visited a world on the outer edge of G-S16 in hopes of resolving a war going on between the natives. The wave of Xenophilia coming from first contact with the Etharians had improved their view on alien species, and proof that they were not so bad were even in this galaxy - although, there were still some conflicts going on. He wished he was Commodore Soren, the man who faced down the High Imperium and sent quite a few gravitocannon shots at their cruisers, along with those thermofission weapons.
Just as he was about to fall asleep, though, his Navigation Officer prodded him. His eyes shot open, and he looked at Rass with a weak look on his eyes.
"Yes, Lieutenant?"
He managed to spout out, and then he got up, waking back up. Of course, the Nav Officer always had nothing new, and only reported sensor readings. What was it this time?
"Sir, There have been reports of heavy military activity near Scavanger space."
He immediately got up when he heard the words heavy military activity and then he barked out his orders, now fully awake,
"Display sensor data on screen - specifically, Scavanger territory."
An old habit of his was he kept on saying screen instead of holoprojector, something proving that he was an old man out of his time, however his age was still not old to anyone else. The holo-projector lit up on this wide bridge that had to have been refitted several times now, and on that screen, a massive fleet was displayed.
"Contact Karos Fleet-Yards."
The entire fleet powered up to maximum, and then started backing away from Scavanger territory - cautious not to alert the Ancient fleet.
BattleCruiserCommander While no images have been found, there have been reports their fleet are entering old scavenger territory!
trying to invade a dead thing eh?
