The Edar Sventari have fallen.
A series of huge and strangely simultaneous slave revolts finally toppled the great empire. Their home galaxy has splintered into multiple states, mostly split by species. Large parts of the empire are in complete anarchy still, without any real government. Remnants of the empire are still scattered around.
The most interesting part is in case of something just like this, they had a plan.
The Edar created a field of satellites, in interstellar space, that creates a bubble.
Nothing can get in or out of the bubble. Not ships, not communications, not ANYTHING less than time.
The point of this event is to give control of different states to players in this isolated bubble, separate from the rest of the cosmoverse.
Here is the map:
(Will fix once images working)
Rules:
1. You can edit the lore all you want as long as you stick to the small amount I have given you.
2. Right now, all your ships are the Edar ships or modified civilian ships. Please make a point of researching and designing new ships in your lore if you get new ones. (The exception to this is the Twelve Pirates.)
3. Please respect the map. Don't go attacking nations on the other side of the galaxy.
4. Be reasonable in your power. You are a newly formed nation, probably in debt. Don't be going around with megafleets.
5. You can take control of unclaimed, anarchy land. I have to approve it first, though.
6. Don't just attack, attack, attack. Make deals, of political and economic types. Make this a space intrigue.
7. Please RP on the forum, and any event/faction page should have [E.S.W.N.] after it, to differentiate.

Remnants
Government: Absolute Monarchy
Claimed by: @Amazing_Goob
Situation: These are the last strongholds of the empire. They still hold the First World, the home planet of the Edar and the Thurirl, and possibly the most valuable planet in the entire galaxy. They raid the other nations, stealing back slaves and weakening them best they can. Meanwhile, the rest hide in there fortress worlds, waiting for the ex-slaves to crush them all.
United Principalities of the Thurirl
Government: Representative Democracy
Claimed by:
Situation: The Thurirl were the household slaves of the Edar. Once the empire fell, they went on a great exodus south to what is now the United Pricipalities. To the south, they are greatly weakened by Remnant raiders, and with bad relations with both the New Empire and the Junta, trouble is brewing.
The New Empire
Government: Military Dictatorship
Claimed By: @Gladaxia
Situation: The goal of the New Empire is to reunite the Edar's old empire. It is a great mix of ambitious ex-slaves, with a minority Edar. Internal tensions and external problems threaten to destroy it before it even gets started.
Welunian Federation
Government: Federated Electocracy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electocracy)
Claimed by:
Situation: The majority of the Welunian federation is made of the Welun, which means "Moon" in Edarian, because they come from the moon of the First Planet. They desperately want the first world due to this, and a great amount of propaganda has sprouted up around this idea. They are relatively friendly with all their neighbors, except the Junta.
Shochraosian Junta
Government: Military Junta
Claimed by:
Situation: Shochraos means lightning in Edarian, and it's a rather fitting name as they can create electricity, similar to electric eels. Their politics are heavily influenced by the New Empire, and multiple members of the military council are really New Empire spies, though the rest of the council don't know this.
Burnt Republic
Government: Representative Democracy
Claimed By: @Solarwatch (I'm not joking)
Situation: The species of the burnt republic have such a high body temperature that any flammable substance within five feet of them goes up in flames. Lucky for them, all the planets have been ground up and replaced with super-stations. Ironically, they are probably one of the most stable of the splinter states. They are also politically neutral, not interfering much with other's politics.
Plutacra
Government: Plutocracy
Claimed by: @CursedPh4nt0m
Situation: The top leaders of Plutacra are THE richest people in the galaxy. Meanwhile, the lower classes are THE poorest people in the galaxy. ⁽ᶜᵒᵐᵐᵘⁿᶦˢᵗ ᵘᵖʳᶦˢᶦⁿᵍˀ⁾3 Plutacra is the bank of the galaxy, loaning out large sums of money to other governments. But be warned, their debt collectors are more like assassins....
Thrae
Government: Kritarchy
Claimed By: @Sombreroman
Situation: Thrae means "Gas" in Edarian, since this species is literally a cloud of sentient gas. This makes making a nation difficult. They had to loan a large amount of money from Plutacra, then use that money to pay Zezhuanth to create suits that they can use. They now mass-produce these suits to give to every citizen, though they are still in heavy debt.
Hamirian Theocracy
Government: Theocracy (duh)
Claimed By: @SpaceCommander
Situation: The hamir are a spider-like race and one of the first to be subjugated. Before they were conquered, they were still very religious, but it was quickly stamped out by the topaz fist of the Edar. They will do almost ANYTHING to find any part of their old religion. Today, they hate the Zezhuanth, since they think the Hamir are religous nincompoops and the Hamir think they are heretical nonbelievers.
Zezhuanth
Government: Geniocracy
Claimed By: @RedAndCosmoteer
Situation: Extremly smart, the Zezhuanth were at the top of the "mind slaves" caste before the collapse. They are perfectly logical, which opposes them to the Hamir. They are great inventors and invented the Thrae's suits for them.
The Kingdom of Twelve Pirates
Government: Kleptocracy (Council of Pirates)
Claimed by: @Alpha
Situation: Of all the problems the old empire had, such as rebellions, inflations, and intergalactic monsters, all were stomped out except one: Pirates. They could never get rid of all the pirates. For each pirate that popped up, two more showed up. They saw an opportunity to consolidate their power, and twelve of the most powerful pirates, along with countless smaller pirates, created a nation. A corrupt, raiding nation that everybody hates, but still a nation.
The Confederate States
Government: Confederated, representative democracy
Claimed by:
Situation: The Confederate States does not have a majority population, unlike most of the other splinters. They are not a single state, but many in a coalition. Most of the unrepresented ex-slaves live here. The Confederate States are seeking to destroy the Brutes and get the rich systems there.
Brutes
Government: Kraterocracy
Claimed by: @Mjolnir
Situation: The Brutes are made up of stupid but strong species that destroys anything it touches. It's strange that they even managed to form a country at all. Politics are pretty much "I have i bigger stick." It is unfortunate, then, that they own a very valuable slice of the galaxy. All of their neighbors seek to get a chunk out of them.
(Note: To whoever claims this faction, there is a important secret I must tell you first.)
Grand Duchy Of the Korinth
Government: Aristocracy with Grand Duke leader
Claimed by:
Situation: There is no such thing as a subservient Korinth. It literally means rage. If there was a slave revolt, it was likely a Korinth at the head. Due to this, they were the lowest of the low in the caste, only above brutes. If anyone is to tame the anarchy in the north east, it'll be them.
Driss
Government: Timocracy
Claimed by: @gearshift
Situation: The Driss are green blobs, looking rather like their empire. In the caste system, they were the trash cans, as they are extremely acidic. This means they were extremely plentiful and claimed a great amount of territory; luckily, they are politically neutral, except with the Burnt Republic, in which they are friendly, understanding each other.
