G4L4XY @Fort_Master_Gustav
For the record, I was never going to deliberately attack or wipe out @Cosmicdestroyer's ships or fleet in any way, I just made it seem that way so that I had a semi-legitimate reason for being here. What I was actually going to do was see in real time how he would react to something like this, then maybe give some real tough constructive criticism, which is a little more 'on the nose' than what anyone else has said.
Now, I might have originally said I would attack and destroy the fleet or I might have made it look that way, but I was really only going to destroy a couple of ships to teach Cosmic about casualties and fatalities in a real situation. But I decided not to do that after waking up to ya'll seemingly coming up to a conclusion based upon barely anything. Yes, I may not have been in the original stuff, but what have I been doing? I literally said it when I first warped in:
If it came down to it, I was going to destroy a few Bloodmonger ships, but only if it came down to it. As I said before, I simply wanted to observe his RP style against something that could be potentially very dangerous, whilst introducing a new(ish) faction. All I was planning was to survive, not to attack.
I was then going to give a detailed and concise post, telling him what he's been doing right and wrong, telling him what's bullshit and what's not, which is a little more on-the-nose than what other people have been doing. I mean, hell, a fleet warped in, sent a couple of transmissions, survived two rounds of millions of anti-matter missiles, then booked it out of there once they fired at a star and potentially destroyed it. Combined with the past events, this is not just 'on the nose', it's almost a necessity.
But credit is due where credit is due, so I'm going to go ahead and do something you probably don't expect.
@Cosmicdestroyer Good job for not using your most powerful weapon where you might have been able to.
And good job for putting some effort into explaining how your ships did XYZ. Sometimes, the newbies don't even do that, they just say 'ha ha my ship fire beam destroy all your ship HA HA'.
Concerning the moon teleportation and all that, I reckon we should look at this quote from someone on discord:
FTLing a moon would take a hell of alot of time, prep, energy and computation to pull off for sure.
And just auto teleporting it without such is a meme
As far as I can see, you don't have the technology advanced enough to do that. You could probably get away with bringing in ONE moon, but two moons and a star? Firstly, you'd need to consider the drawbacks. Stars give off massive amounts of gravity and radioactivity. Moving them is likely to effect solar systems, especially ones that have planets. Where are you getting the stars from? Does it have drawbacks on your systems? It would also have severe drawbacks on anything else in the system, as this is a literal STAR. For one, it would get a lot hotter and if the star was particularly active, there would be a massive radiation spike.
Now, let's assume that you generated that star from the middle of nowhere, Tonal Manipulation style. You'd have to have twentyfold the computational power to FTL the star in, just to make the star and that's not even talking about having to already possess the technology to do so, when, you don't really. I'm not really a master on TM though, so don't ask me how much computer power it would take to create a star, that's @Fort_Master_Gustav's job. Even then, that's assuming you have enough power to pull it off AND you were prepared before hand to do that.
In terms of using superweapons, you can't use them willy nilly. Did I attack your ships at all? No, I just sent a transmission. I wouldn't have even been able to for the moment, because of the interdictor field (which, btw, is a Type Two Interdictor, which removes chunks of reality to prevent most types of FTL, warp and rift jumps, as well as preventing people from travelling into it via realspace. It's not easy to ignore it and it can't really be ignored.)
Now, let's talk about attacking, shall we? You need to have reasons for your actions. Did I ever attack you? I might have been a bit threatening over the transmissions, but is that really a reason to attack with MILLIONS OF MISSILES? In those situations, you'd either talk it out, or say something like 'if you continue to threaten me, I will take action'. And when you do get around to attacking, you don't bring in more and more BS as you do that. If you feel like you're losing, then retreating is the best option. Or even if you're winning, retreating might also be a good option. You don't necessarily need to win every battle, so before you go too deep into RP, you need to remember this sentence as you are doing everything:
"Do not use bullshit to win your way, losing is healthy and teaches you persistence. Retreating is not cowardly and is sometimes smart. So never dip to powerplay with OP Tech and Ships"
Sincerely,
