Tada! Glad to finally get this out (Though I am a little sad, because it lost a little bit of effectiveness in the transfer from 0.14.6 to 0.14.7)
Works at least with 0.14.7 through 0.14.15
Cosmofine is a modification solely designed to improve the performance of Cosmoteer on lower-end computers. Like Optifine itself, it may help an unbelievable amount, or it might not help a lot, but it will improve performance either way.
What it does:
Cosmofine has two different methods of improving the game. The first is to simply lower the amount of unnecessary stuff going on by lowering the object count of backgrounds, and removing planets entirely. This increases FPS around 50% (usually), and makes loading a game/a sector almost instantaneous. Secondly, it does a bit of behind-the-scenes wizardry to make the physics calculations themselves much faster. Please note that as an inevitable side effect, railguns and some modded parts don't quite function properly.
Misc info:
This modification is compatible with Cosmoteer versions 0.14.7, 0.14.8, and probably 0.14.9, and should be trivial to update when necessary
Cosmofine unfortunately does make your multiplayer game incompatible, not much I can do about that
Crew look very spazzy, but act nearly the exact same way, so don't worry
Cosmofine increases FPS much more on lower end PCs, but improves physics calculations on both low and high end builds a huge amount
The mod folder starts with [, which means it almost always loads last for convenience
You can use the developer mode bar to find an "Empty" background type that can act both as a greenscreen, and increase FPS drastically, especially with weaker graphics cards

Also, if you download the mod, please take a few seconds to submit how much Cosmofine improved your performance, so I can get a better idea of what I might need to change in the future
