The man wearing ~~ridiculously long robes almost as if he's an emperor or something~~ a suit and tie smiled, "Greetings. I'm the diplomat sent by our nation. It's nice to meet you." He then looked at the scientist (make him give a questioning face and an erlenmeyer flask or something lol surely he's curious about the tech thing)

"Indeed it's an honour to meet you, what do you call yourself and what is your nation called? We've got so much diplomatic ground to cover."

Fort_Master_Gustav "I'm Alrik. Diplomat Alrik, of the Illateri Sovereignty." The man extended his right hand...

The diplomat says something on the likes of "Oh sure!" then goes the whole way around the table, shakes his hand, then returs to his original position, he speaks again:
"Okay now, what shall we discuss first?"

The soldier guides them to an ornate, circular elevator, it seems that he doesn't mind that one of the crabs is smoking.

Diplomat: Ah yes, but I'm not fit to talk about that, please.

The scientist rises to her feet, fixes her bow-tie, grabs a small controller which controls the holo-projector in the center, and begins to talk:

"Well, right out of the bet, I'll say our greatest feats, the greatest engineering feat is the space elevator (-click- Images of the space elevator appear on the projector) We've only been able to achieve this due to some recently developed materials, as in the field of physics, I may confirm what you just said, we haven't FTL drives yet, but we're uncharting new territory in quantum physics each day, maybe one day we'd get there...

Fort_Master_Gustav "Ah, yes! We needed more than just a few space elevators to get off the ground, so to speak. I think we can give you blueprints for a device that generates Strange Baryonic Matter for Warp drives, and as for the hawking radiation problems, I think we can spare things like that too."

His palm rested on the table, a device fused into it, and then he started it up, displaying his own holo-projection, "In fact... I may be able to get some on screen now..." The device blueprints then appeared on the palm of his hand. "Not too much of a deal, the rest of the galaxy has things like this, and I feel like everyone should be able to achieve their dream, so I guess I can give this out..."

The scientist's eyes light up:
"Great! Any tech would help us tremendously, if you had the mathematical expressions and production details as well, it'd help immensiv--"

Then the general cuts over:

"Sure this is all merry and all, but we already have had a fu##### meteor land on our planet with an alien that now threatens all of us, I see how we can use that tech for defense but how can we expect to survive when everyone around us has so much more power?"

Fort_Master_Gustav "Well, I can create documents and agreements that places you under our protection, if you're willing to accept it... Maybe I can spare some military tech as well, get you on your feet."

The general ponders, then answers:
"Any help would be great, sorry for getting motivated, I lost good man there."

Fort_Master_Gustav "I understand. I think I can spare some more miniaturized light weapons, such as LASERs for you, and I can, uh, 'print' the documents about protection and all." He turned back to the scientist,

"Yes, we can send you the math and the specifics."

He then answered a question in the back of the heads of the MISE people,
"Why are we doing this? Because A, If we give you a boost, you may expand into a great interstellar empire with constant trade, benefiting us both, and B, it's because unlike many others in space, I am not a sick bastard who takes pleasure in the pain of others."

Some of them smile, some of them chuckle a bit, the diplomat speaks:
"Well, while we may be unsure about A, we surely are thankful for B!"

"Anyways, can we consider you our allies then? Even though that will be a pretty one-sided alliance."

Fort_Master_Gustav "Yeah. We can. We can consider that. I'm sure the Archons, being quite like me, will agree with both of my points and sign all of this. Also, there's a matter of galactic history in mind, and I cannot guarantee that you will be completely safe, and since there's a galaxy-wide war going on..."

"Well, are we in the middle of the battlefield? Or will we not be affected by it? Also, thank you, for, if worst comes to worst, we'll probably have to evacuate the planet."

I'm no expert but from what I understand, there are quite strategic positions within a distance of thirty thousand light years from here - places that allow one side, the Syndicate or the Assembly, to attack each other's territory directly. I'm not sure, but they may come to you. Don't make any alliances with a party of either side, one of our allies already terminated an alliance in order to remain neutral in the war."

"Well, if they do come, we don't have any option but being neutral, as we lack quite a bit of tools to make any difference in this "war", for now we'll be investing in our infrastructure, and trying to colonize other systems, as now we may finally have the tech to do so, thank you."

Fort_Master_Gustav Onboard the shuttle, Maglor contemplates the situation, then judges that the locals have no technology capable of harming the ship or his soldiers should it come to violence, and orders a course set straight for the orbital elevator while rebroadcasting the message "We are the Coalition of Noldorin Kingdoms and we wish to negotiate with the inhabitants of this world."

He paused for a second, and looked at the General (who may or may not be present),

"What's this alien you talked about?"
