Randomert I would move both of the side-most reactors under the double shields and armor, as they are now they are pretty exposed. You can also get rid of the 4 middle-most reactors that power only crs, some thrusters, and sensors, instead I would move the crs to the side of the thruster modules and have only one sensor powered by the middle cannon module reactor. lastly, I would add some structure lines going from one side to the other to hopefully help prevent splitting once a module is destroyed.

like this or did I go overkill with structures.
All of them? Because before my ship would frequently just circle my friends' ships until I added those in the middle. Should I add other side thrusters elsewhere?
I did a bunch of minor tweaks. Changed a fair bit of the armor to structure and filled some holes near soft spots with armor. Added thrusters in the mid to help with the weight. Made the ship slightly more compact around the middle.

Hey! It's been awhile.
Recently got back into the game, and was curious if anyone had some advice on the following ship. I posted an earlier variation of this design back when I joined, and I found myself seeking to improve it yet again.
The main issues I have with this design is with the messy interior design. I was hoping some might be able to assist in cleaning it up, and making it more effiecent. On top of that, I'd love to find a way to add more shielding, as I find only one layer of shielding to be rather flimsy.
Otherwise, any and all other improvements and suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, trying to keep the price under 500k.
Astrum Not sure if I'm the right guy to be helping you here, but I'll try
First of all, there are a lot of unnecessary corridors which can be switched out for something more useful. Also, I can see that a lot of the ship is interconnected, try to modulate the ship more, having more separate compartments so that the crew pathing doesn't derp and travel through the entire ship, like they normally do. This is just from what I can see, haven't taken a peek at it in-game just yet, so I don't know what price it's at right now.
If you want to have double shielding, try using a double shield module and stagger them like you have done with the single shields. The thrust doesn't look too bad, and the reactors are well-spaced for where they are put. I'm sure there's points that I've missed, but again this is just what I can see right now. Just start slowly refining the layout.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll get to work improving it now and show the improved product later
Alright, attempted to fix the previously mentioned flaws with the previous design. Hopefully this one is a little better. Also not sure what's better to use in this case, Flak or PD?

Also I set my budget for the previous design at $1,500,000. So I was attempting to reduce costs as much as possible.
Lukz2cool Flak is like the worst idea possible for diagonal builds, soo.... Get that PD back right now!
I'd also like to mention the new thruster placement makes turning impossible. Litterally impossible.
You did a good job with the armor tho, could be you actually overdid it at the tips and with those 2*3 triangles blocking your own cannons (I assume? Didn't load it yet.
). You should also check whether a power storage is enough to power both factories, EMP-factories use way more energy than HE ones. Bonus points for efficiency, shielding and paint. Those won't help you once the enemy is behind you tho. Even the AI could outmaneuver you at this point... (Simply move the upper thrusters one/two spot(s) lower and you will be able to turn again. Adding additional thrusters would be an even better solution tho.)

CursedPh4nt0m Actually flak is better on diagonals (mostly Vs) than on walls cause of a better angle of protection, just look at one of the deserters or the brinestar in GiF, I made them use their flak diagonally for the best protection possible (although brinestar is much better than the deserter with flak.)
Oneye Yeah, I was only referring to arrow-shaped diagonals, V-shaped designs work quite well with it. (Stupid me forgot the other ones exist too.
) You've ever seen effective flak on a diagonal triangle?
CursedPh4nt0m Yeah but its more effective against missiles than anything else.
so heres my only vanilla capitol and my favourite modded capitol modded (GCW)

the vanilla capitol has suicide ships and thats why theres a cluster of reactors on them
chief_chaman478 just realised my vanilla is missing an ammo facory top center
chief_chaman478 actually its very screwed with the paint idk how that happened
Made some minor adjustments. Cut some dead space and sort of compartmentalized (It's quite difficult, due to the sloped nature. Perhaps someone has a better method than mine). Rearranged the guns, modified the thrust slightly, and most of all, added double shields. I am curious if this addition of another set of shields provides a significant boost, vs. their cost and ability of crew to keep the powered. I'd love some insight into this, if at all possible.
Thanks!

Made more changes, and managed to get the thing to fire all its lasers with virtually no down time. Feel pretty good about it, but I do have issues regarding its durability and firepower. Perhaps I'm just pushing the limits of 500k credits. I do plan on making version(s) in a similar vein as this one that are in the 750k and maybe 1 million range.
