The scans manage to reveal some new information on the three shuttles, identifying the particles as a vaporized for of "admoscite," a mineral only found in northeastern and central systems of the galaxy. Their cores also seem to run on the mineral, explaining the particle emissions. They appear to be lightly armed, although their weaponry isn't capital-grade.
The three shuttles continue to scan things, coming to a stop as if they were waiting for something or someone...
