(Nah its fine, the way it works is to slow down FTL speed or close to FTL speed objects via a similar manner to existing interdiction devices, essentially like a repulsive magnet for fast objects.
However, Non-FTL objects still pass through this with minimal slowdown, it would still end up ramming the ship regardless, probably destroying part of the ship if the shields where either: down, or, configured for normal use rather than deflecting objects... just like it was.
So it would have happened, although then they would have focused on deflecting that in the future.)
The segmented backup shields of the interdictor are all that stops the weaponsfire from doing any real damage to the ship. Although labeled as backup shields, they easily stop what fire hits the ship although take significant damage.
The fleet's weaponsfire comes to a halt, noticing almost instantly that this ship is not one of RDM design.
