Zaran would seem curious about the Veil's origins, thinking of how they could have survived without hosts...

If I had to make a guess, they would have likely used a species of insect as a temporary host, inheriting their rigid carapaces... And Perhaps their increased aggression and Intelligence. The assimilation of a solid mind may have allowed them to... Think, despite being a disease. Not to mention, I doubt a habited planet would be free of vermin or pests, to put it harshly..."

Doctor Roger would respond suddenly, like an incompetent lawyer to a tolerant judge...
Doctor Roger: "HOLD IT! I've seen footage of a Remna dying, and I'm certain most of us know of it... Their bodies become Dark as they degenerate. Your Insect Theory is interesting, but they may have simply picked up the thicker Carapace later... My point is, perhaps a Remna died with this "Tendril Virus", but the Virus developed too far within their bodies, almost... Consuming them, perhaps. If it were to fully infect a Remna, that may have been able to create the first Veil Specimen."
Zaran would look stunned by his theory; he pieced it together so fast that he could barely even pick it up with his apparent mind-reading...
Zaran: "A most interesting suggestion, Doctor... However, are you trying to say that they have some sort of hivemind- ...Of course! This Weave of theirs... As more Veil specimens come into existence, they would technically become more intelligent... Perhaps, an Infected Remna was... Assimilated after death...?"

It could be a Genetic deformity that could appear to be a disease, somewhat like a Prion infection... Hell, for all I know, the Veil might just be a Remna Corpse's ticking-time bomb, as their DNA might degenerate until they function again, or their cells become incapable of self-destructing... "
