Xedo'Lutum was looking at one of his lieutenant's sensors. They detected a small anomaly, maybe a threat to the fleet, so he had been sent to investigate. His ship used his downward facing thrusters for ten seconds, floating up as the momentum carried them out of the rings of the Gas Giant.

What he saw made him laugh. He looked at the viewscreen, and saw a small covenant squadron approaching him. 'Eto'Teram is playing another practical joke on me again.' he thought. He chuckled, and said to himself, "Very funny, but that isn't going to work, Shipmaster." He received a transmission, but he simply waved it off, "It's just a joke, don't pay any attention to it..." And then after a minute, a massive OAS Carrier exited a slipspace rupture right on top of the gas giant... "This is not a practical joke..."

The small CRS then turned around, and cruised back to the fleet, but by the time the OAS was in the area, it got the attention of the fleet, and the small twenty ship formation was already flying towards the Covenant Fleet...

[ Transmission ]
"I'm Fleetmaster Khata'Relkam of this small Covenant Detachment. It's good to see another Covenant fleet in this area of space. Come aboard as you please."

TheSwedishToamto The Silence of Covenant Space is suddenly disrupted by a loud distress signal coming from a nearby moon; the Message seems to be using some kind of advanced technology. When listened to, this is what plays:

Help! (Audio Corrupted) We are being attacked by the- (Audio Corrupted) there is a massive beast devouring the- (Audio Corrupted)

Although the voice itself seems to be smooth, when the Audio does work there are several Zombie-Like Groans in the background... The ship is still broadcasting, but it's clearly being attacked, and possibly boarded. Whoever is sending this signal may have valuable technology... At the risk of whatever kind of creature is "Eating" something near them.

TheSwedishToamto Upon reaching the source of the Distress Signal, the Battleship would find a Biological ship being assaulted by several Crimson, Parasitic organisms, shaped like Fleshy Spikes. The being that presumably sent out the signal appears to be a Gigantic Mass of vines, only slightly smaller than the ship; notably reminiscent of an Engineer in some ways. It seems to be holding the device it sent the signal with, and immediately contacts the Covenant Battleship with the device, confirming its Identity as the sender;

"Shoot them! Good Plaeclarium, Shoot Them!"

While several other Sangheli and Unggoy watch the struggle, the Captain of the Battleship looks up... And finally sees the Creature that was eating something; however, what it's eating would strike him with genuine horror and disbelief...

TheSwedishToamto Upon landing on the ship, a junior officer along with the guard team escorts Feto'Sugram to the bridge, which is "a deck up, going to the back of the battlecruiser". Upon arriving there, you see a middle-aged Sangheili sitting at the center of the bridge, who was looking at his interface, and then looked up to see Feto'Sugram. "Ah, You must be Shipmaster... or Commander... Feto'Sugram. I'm Khata'Relkam, acting Fleetmaster of the second detachment of the Fleet of Eternal Righteousness. I forgot to tell you, Xata'Nalkam, our Fleetmaster is currently absent. He took his personal CAS Carrier to scout the area. He should be back soon..."

Sombreroman after seeing this creature the captain of the ships calls for reinforcement and after a while 2 more battlecruisers appear and one of them sends a transmission to the ones asking for help

TheSwedishToamto After Thrashing one of the parasites away with a metal-coated vine, the Creature responds...

"I am Oculi Auream, a High Surveyor of the Domini Naturae Species, and These monsters go by the names of the Corruption! Assuming I survive this Endeavour, I'll happily explain later, but now isn't the time! Get me out of here, before that thing degenerates further!"

At first confused by what they meant, Cesa 'Nagam realizes the Parasitic spikes are coming from the right side of the creature, separating from it's flesh... Oculi Auream fights against more spikes in the meantime, although it's clear he's beginning to get overwhelmed...

Suddenly, a massive 6 km wide and tall slipspace rupture opens in the orbiting space above what was the planet. Nothing in the area could prepare for a CAS Assault Carrier exiting the rupture in slipspace, and then looking at the massive Corruption beast...

"Covenant Glassing Services, how may i help you?"

The 3 CCS-class Battlecruiser sends out there fighters to help Oculi Auream with the spikes and 2 of the CCS-class Battlecruiser starts to fly closer to Oculi Auream ship and starts shooting at the spikes aswell while the last one sends a transmission to the CAS Assault Carrier

Is that you Xopo 'Zoralum? eyy no time for that make sure to give that creature a dent or preferably something worse but watch out for those spikes.

TheSwedishToamto Oculi Auream worrisomely continues fighting; even with assistance he worries of how this fight will end. A Covenant Wraith suddenly stops responding after a Spike Explodes near it; After a couple of second in silence, it sprouts fleshy, weaponized tendrils that begin to attack the other Covenant Fighters, as well as Oculi Auream. He quickly explains what has happened before a Battleship also falls victim;

"The Spike infected that ship! Do not hesitate with the pilot; they're nothing but a host now... However, be advised; the infection spreads quickly; any of those things touch your Battleships, and they'll turn on you in... Assuming they have a good ventilation system, around a Minute at most."

Oculi Auream tries to place special emphasis on the words at most, as a warning to how fast this Corruption spreads... However, this is not the main realization that strikes the minds of the Battleship's Captains; Something about this Corruption reminds them of something...

"Xata'Nalkam here. Maybe, because the Parasites don't like fire, that we GLASS THE PARASITES?!"

The Fleetmaster yelled after pressing buttons on his console, requesting for reinforcements. With only a few taps, the helm officer of the CAS maneuvered the fast ship a few thousand kilometers on top of the Corruption Megaconsumer (that's what i'll call it now), and when a hatch opened, a thousand kilometer long lance of superheated plasma struck the massive Corruption Beast.

[ Transmission - Encrypted ]
"Acting Fleetmaster Khata'Relkam, i request reinforcements at the given co-ordinates. Use any and all force to stop the enemy you meet. Xata'Nalkam, out."
[ Transmission - Encrypted ]

Meanwhile, with multiple targeting locks on the Corrupted CCS Battlecruiser, lasers aimed at what was a Covenant Battlecruiser, and then multiple holes opened in the shields to allow the lasers to pass through, striking the hull of the CAS while eight plasma torpedoes were released at the Corrupted vessel.

(Covenant shields are rated to stop kinetics, so i'm assuming that the shield was disabled when the Corruption corrupted it. It may require more recharging...)

Meanwhile, fifteen light-years away, the Covenant fleet prepared to enter slipspace in order to meet the Corruption Parasites. Khata'Relkam was sitting in the chair of the Command CCS, and then looked at the navigator. He ordered, "Execute slipspace jump," in front of Feto'Sugram and then multiple slipspace openings were created, becoming larger each nanosecond and in a single second, multiple slipspace portals opened...

and they returned to realspace right on top of the Corruption beast in seconds.

RedAndCosmoteer TheSwedishToamto (No, but this Revised Corruption does have some inspiration. However, I made the ship infection bit long before I even knew the Flood Existed ._.)

The Beast writhes in agony upon being hit by a glassing beam; you only notice it does this when you don't hit the infected parts of the beast, suggesting it is still self-aware. Upon being asked about what to do, Oculi Auream can only give a bleak answer;

"We only have two options here; either we fight until we fall to the dying beast's infection, or we escape and avoid risking infestation; this disease is capable of infecting just about anything, including converting Mechanical Mass into biomatter. After being infected for long enough, a ship could be converted into more material to create more spikes. It's a vicious cycle of death."

Upon realizing a fleet jumped in right above the Corrupted beast, Oculi Auream cries out in terror;

"WAIT! NO!"

The infected creature's right jaw degrades further, forming into more Corruptor Spikes. Several Covenant Ships are dangerously close to the group of spikes released; they can only hope to fend off the swarm headed towards them. In the meantime, Oculi Auream rips out an uninfected, unidentifiable drive from his ship, while fending off the Spikes attempting to attack him. Then, he makes a request;

"Does your fleet have 1,000 Units of Fuel?"

and now i'm wondering if Corruption Spikes count.

"Well maybe you should have scanned the slipspace portals. OUR FUEL IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH SLIPSPACE DRIVES."

He looked at another officer, "Transmit to our fleet in visual, get me the fleetmaster." The officer nodded, and then tapped another few buttons...

"Do you see those flying spikes? Aim for them first. Use plasma, as far as i know, the Parasite does not like flames. The spikes can turn your ship into one of their own. Reserve the Glassing Beam for the massive one."

He then looks at his Tactical, and then ordered them, "Shoot down any and all spikes with the pulse lasers. If a ship becomes a tool of the Parasite, use plasma torpedoes." When more holes in shields opened and pulse lasers fired at all thing Corruption...

RedAndCosmoteer (Yes, although the Spikes aren't the only type of Corruption that exists; any other infected ships could disable them before the spikes move in.)

Oculi Auream looks disappointed after finding out their fuel is incompatible. Whilst the battle rages on, Auream continues to whack away the spikes, although he knows destroying any from close range would be suicide. He then decides to salvage any uninfected parts of his ship he can; less spikes have been attacking him after the Covenant began providing cover fire. After creating two small modules, he re-assembles the parts into something useful and combines them via biological material. He then slips in as much of his infectible mass into the Make-Shift Craft, and begins moving towards the Covenant Fleet, fighting his way through with salvaged weapons.

In the meantime, the Corrupted Forces struggle greatly against the Covenant ships; even in their attempts to use their own weapons against them, the Corruption lacks any expertise in using plasma weaponry, to the point of even harming itself in its attempts...

Sombreroman (I noticed. About the Megazoan, i think some of my faction's scanners can detect it, but idk)

However, the attempts, although they did harm to themselves, are a great success as the Corruption disables the shields of a CCS battlecruiser, with a spike corrupting it seconds later. Several CRS cruisers also fall to the Corruption, with other Covenant ships falling left and right (and up and down and forward and backwards)... Oculi Auream hopes he will make it in time, as a CCS Battlecruiser's pulse laser barely misses, while in the bridge of the CAS Carrier, Xata'Nalkam looks at the Domini Naturae surveyor on his screen, and orders, "Provide more cover fire, make sure he gets in this ship without turning into a parasite himself!" as red beams and balls of plasma slam into Corrupted ships and explosions fill the battlespace...
