Surface scans are inconclusive due to the amount of devastation caused by the previous bombardment. The scouts in the system stumble across the wreck of a massive Storm-class Dreadnought, the main frontline warship of the Old Imperium. Perhaps the wreckage has more information than the planet below?

The dropship smashes through a station bulkhead and skids to a stop through a shopping mall after wrecking about 50 or so storefronts. Why would anyone store anything HERE? Nevertheless, the boarding team proceeds onwards, further into the station. After almost an hour of tramping around, the team stumbles into a vast series of rooms that seems bigger than the station actually is! And crammed in their endless rows along the rooms are glittering machines that hum and flash with hidden secrets, none of them the same.
In the other system, the fleets seem about to break into violence when from the other end of the connection, the Zankaran ships hear a choked gasp. "The Imperium dead? Impossible!"
Then another voice cuts into the transmission. "But it is, my dear Admiral. You are dead, slain during one of the most heinous betrayals this galaxy has seen. You, Elandra Vos, are dead here. Made manifest from a could've been shadow of reality and brought here by the power of arcane sciences."

The fleet nears the edge of the storm and prepares to make the jump across the boundary. Just before they do, crew members hear haunting whispers and echoes. "Turn back. For the Star has broken and only the damned may pass."
The Zerg Leviathan emerges from the rip into a mostly deserted system, but the remnants of some sort of industrial military complex still abound, with foundries and shipyards too numerous to count.

The system the Wolf Pack fleet emerges into is somewhat sparse, but there appears to be a binary planet pair here that has survived the terrors of the Maw and has now been found, And yet, defensive systems and stations in orbit abound.

The unknown ships exit FTL into a radiation storm the likes of which are seen almost nowhere else in the galaxy. The massive blue-white giant at the heart of this emits a sleeting rain of hard radiation and solar particles that must surely sterilize any habitable worlds in the system. Tarry not, for you shields will soon fail and all will perish.

The Clan fighters come in for a landing, and see a single towering pillar in the middle of a sea of lava, with a pedestal surrounded by a dome on it.
The new fleet nears the edge of the storm and prepares to make the jump across the boundary. Just before they do, crew members hear haunting whispers and echoes. "Turn back. For the Star has broken and only the damned may pass."
They emerge from transit right into the middle of another debris field, but this time, the field is an orbital ring, and all the ships definitvely bear the markings of the High Imperium here. What could've done this?
