ramethelis So. First off, AWESOME ship model. Ignoring combat capabilities, I love the overall look of it! Props to you, man! Now here's some of that feedback...
Regarding crew/power distribution. The big problem with your model is that all of your crew and power modules are located in the core of the ship. They're also clustered together in an alarming fashion. If the shields fail under fire, all it takes is a well-placed railgun shot to damn near cripple this ship and start enough fires that your crew won't be able to put them all out and fly and fight at the same time.
The big problem with concentrating the crew in such a large ship is that the crew take FOREVER to get power cells and get to where they need to go. There are two possible solutions for this. You can either set up a network of people movers throughout the ship, or you can do what I did and cut the ship up into modules. This is actually the better tactic in battle because it means that the crew AI can't get all stupid on you and stop shooting the guns to go and power the shields right in the middle of battle. Also, it keeps fires and chain reactions contained, making it harder to disable the entire ship.
With all of that said, here's my take. It's still a little lower on the power percentage bar than I'd like, but it has far more in the way of shields and guns than your original. It also needs better distribution of fire extinguishers, but if you build the ship right, shields don't fail and you don't really need them. Anyways, here it is, do what you will!
