which has literally only hyperdrive and hyperlanes, unlike the three FTL options it used to have. Even Jump Drive is hyperdrive.

I do like to use battles using walls of text, however the problem with this is that you sometimes break the balance and you can try to claim that a tiny fighter has a Halo Ring fitted inside it, which is the problem, with lore-based battles as you can easily say X and you can have this as your official lore.

However there is also a problem with singleplayer based battles. Here's the problem: The other guy gets to completely control the outcome of the battle, and you're locked out of making any adjustments to course, weapons fire, or anything. I detest this form of battle, which locks you away from making tactical decisions that anyone can do in the middle of the fight to turn the tide.

There is a problem with multiplayer-based battles too. MODS EXIST and you need to install them to battle with the other guy and you're limited to FIVE SHIPS so i don't use this ever.

Not always, discord exists for a reason, and any decent person would set aside their will to win and play fair, or hell, even just make it an AI battle

Also not really, since you can stick two ships together, or a whole fleet, using explosive charges.

Although the real reason people could not do this, is that wonderful thing called lag. xD

Now overall though, you have to admit, at least having screenshots of two fleets fighting is better than a wall of text alone.
Hell, can't be bothered to link it right now on mobile, but I've done that before, screenshots of a battle AND then written a detailed wall of text as a log of what happened.

But the whole point of this, is that this is not cosmoteer RP unless we do these screenshots, videos, and actual in game battles.
Otherwise all it is, is just some generic space RP, not cosmoteer RP.
At the moment, we may as well draw our ships in MS paint with how little anyone uses them properly.

Anyway, semi-joke aside, please... Take a look at ANY of the numerous "Discord cosmoteer RP" servers that started, and then immediately died or spiralled into chaos.
Its just adding unnecessary rules and arbitrary restrictions to a freeform RP system.

You both seem to expect board game DnD strictness on an open forum.

I would LOVE to see people try to load that into a multiplayer match XD
and yes, its purely SW mod and I think old drones++, so technically would be allowed...

The point I was trying to make, is yes, multiplayer is an unbearable pain and single player is sometimes one sided, but we cannot use that as an excuse to not use our ships in game against each other.

Oh, and im aware you are less talking about the forums and current RP and more about a new "Rp guild", but in my eyes that is not even trying to fix the current RP system and instead going "im making my own", im sure that others who have would have some advice for you, mainly, it spirals out of control and into "chore" territory FAST.

RedAndCosmoteer I suggest that there should be a very limited list of mods allowed for gameplay in an "RPers Guild", which unfortunately could not include ABH, for instance, because its so huge, but it would mostly solve that problem.

falcon500 There isn't an alternative. Having a very specific set of requirements to be able to join the RPers' guild will make a lot of people very angry.

For instance, ABH. @Drakador_Chaos, who is a very experienced, fair, and good roleplayer, has ABH as the core of two of his factions: The TMD and the TATC. Forbidding him from roleplaying just because he uses abh will not please him.

RedAndCosmoteer There could be multiple RPers Guilds. Had you ever thought of that? each one could be a separate galaxy or something, and there could even be special events where more than one guild has battles or whatever.

Unless these guilds are in other dimensions or something, but some factions in "Guilds" can cross that too, such as the Dimensional Collective faction.

But what are your thoughts about the requirements for joining such guilds?

RedAndCosmoteer the guild requirements would vary greatly. They could be vanilla only, only ABH, Only TTE Armory and Kroom's Forge, or whatever the heck you want. I just had another idea for a guild, though, which would have a GM who decides everything about the guild requirements and runs all the battle simulations, and could even allow for wall-of-text arguments by self-desructing a few reactors at the right moments.
