Right then. The first thing we're gonna address here is Drak's comment. What y'all are trying to do is essentially skipping the line and going right up to the front. Not gonna happen, guys. Number one, why do you think I said that there was one passage to Taros? The entire system is in an interdict bubble with one gate through it. Try to cross that bubble, and your fleet is going to wind up stranded in the interstellar void.
Now for specific offenses and mentions.
Pearl, you didn't even seem to notice the Great Rift. Willy-nilly invasions are not going to happen, on account of FTL travel being difficult in general right now. Therefore, RETCON. Try again with either a concentrated invasion point or a small force pointed at the passageway.
Tson, you get credit for dramatics.
BoomBox, thank you for acknowledging the Rift, but you're not just going to drop into orbit. I'm retconning that and saying you managed to sneak a small frigate with Hans, Tyr, and some senior officers through the passage.
Ahem. Back to the story.
As the large object begins to drop from orbit, several sensors go wild, and a swarm of slender thruster needles pour out of a space station and attach themselves to the object before firing at full boost and pushing the object up out of orbit and away from the planet, just as the large cargo hauler unknowingly carrying the R-UPA Troopers enters the system.
The Troopers are frankly astounded by what they see. As the heart of a sprawling interstellar empire, the Taros system is normally a bustling hive of activity. But this is complete chaos. There are defense platforms and military ships scattered across the system, and even more than that, there are civilian ships everywhere. So many are streaming in that they choke the spaceways and even obstruct fields of fire for military instalations. The main focal point for these pilgrims seems to be a truly gargantuan and complex looking construction that resembles a large ring in orbit around one of Taros' moons.
The Troopers change into civilian clothes as the hauler docks at a station on the other side of the system from Taros and then sneak out, looking around at their surroundings......
