Alpha I would, but I'd have to find a new place for the frontal fire extinguishers, and it works well enough for what it is. Aside from that, currently enemies have to get through the weapons or thrusters to be able to hit the reactors. The one weak point is really in the back, but it is engaging the target so that's not too much of an issue. Plus, since we aren't trying to be the best possible combat ships, we can spec into aesthetics, and I really like how this looks right now. If I ever decide to make these ships competitive I will keep that in mind, but for now I think it'll be staying the way it is. As a side note, I've taken my fleet up against 4 line planets and only lost 1 fighter in two of three fights, and none in the last. The Scramblers' ion lasers are honestly a very large part of my damage output right now in my hunter save, and we still melt armor pretty quickly and don't run out of energy too badly. They take damage - heck, the Bruisers take damage - but i have never had one of these get blown up. That may be because the fighters tend to draw attention. but still, my point throughout all of this rambling, for which I am profusely sorry, is this.
I don't want to have to redesign the front section to do that, and don't feel it is really necessary.
As an apology for the rant, here is a preview of the next few designs.
The larger ships have not yet been shown. The one at the bottom is actually a redesign of my August tournament ship with less weapons but more armor. Once again, sorry for the rant. (No, this is not my hunter save.)
