As the weapon is fired, the targeted Mak swarms simply evacuate the firing arc, completely avoiding the weapon. Several RH-9s erased from the face of reality as thousands of drones spear through them.
(guys c'mon, you have limited time and you're wasting it through arguing)

The OSV Retaliation is surrounded by hundreds of RH series ships, almost a million drones swarming the ships, fusion bolts erasing swathes of drones as the Terror Megacapital seemingly fires everything it has. Massive areas of hypercomposite plating having been torn off.

Fleet Lord Osiri stood within the bridge of his flagship, the Retaliation, the monolithic vessel's weapons and reactors pushed to their maximum to fight the Mak.
'Shields at 34%' Said one of the Fleryg officers, the ship shaking as Mak ram it's shields.
'Shut down life support on all decks but the bridge, alert the crews to wear their Utilitary Suits.'

The Retaliation suddenly erupts into a small star as it's main reactors are struck by a Mak Drone's hyperspeed ram, the debris slamming into several Zarthen battleships, many Imps engaged in combat finding themselves destroyed by sheer overwhelming numbers. The NH forces find themselves disorganized after the loss of their command ship, shortly reorganizing into ruthless strikes.
(alright, I need you people to post how your ships fare against the Mak, keep in mind you will lose quite a few ships, I don't want to see "my ships blowed up the maks with energy guns")

yobeefjerky well ive most likely lost most of my small frontline ships but since im in the back the mak would be dealing with the other fleets so my large battleships are doing decently
(also if the mak havent eaten the entire system yet did my weapon hit anything else)
(a note my energy weapon using laser beams so those are moving at light speed)

Most of the larger R-UPA ships are holding well, except for one of the Light Dreadnoughts which was torn to shreds by the onslaught of the Mak drones. The smaller ships, not so much. The light fighters are jumping as pre-organised, taking a few mak drones, but not that much. The heavy fighters seem to be faring well, their heavy beam lasers simply cutting through the drones, although they have taken their losses as well.

Aboard Dark Shadow I, there is chaos.

"Sir! Shields at 75% and going down. The mak drones are trying to get through them!"

"Divert all power to the weapons and shields. Our thrusters are useless if we can't blast them to pieces."

Beside them, another heavy gunship blows up. The explosion sends a shockwave that can be felt through the entire fleet.

"Unleash the missiles."

The rocket launchers rise up from the sides of the ships. They've been kept on standby for a while now.

They are equipped with proximity thermal cluster missiles, designed during the AI War and brought back into use when the threat of the Mak arrived. They fire the missiles, unleashing explosions that take down 20 drones at a time. A couple of missiles detonate late, so they only take 15 drones, but the missiles prove to be successful, just not that effective.

The LC ships, being further back than anyone else, are least likeley to have been attacked yet...
If they have, the Mak proceed to be shot by a huge torrent of cannon-fire, if not destroying them, physically pushing them back.
It seems that the turrets rely on the small spotter scouts for accurate long range fire.

Other than that, they seem to be the least active of the forces, actively moving away from the Mak to kite them.
Although their sensors are fully powered up, and seem to be taking detailed readings of everything from weapons fired, to shields and armour on friendly ships and Mak alike.

((For their stats, see my last post, but overall until they do some research, they will be practically useless bar for the thermal effect from the High explosive shells.
As for armour, its extremely resistant to Energy weapons, but is as weak as any other armour.
However, its unliklely that a "slower" ram would destroy one outright, since the ships have no centralised system that would detonate.
Although an FTL ram... well that is obvious.))

Ill let you decide the fate of these ships, although note they have their FTL drives charged and ready to escape if needed...

The First Charge

The General in his Lucifer shouts through the radio: "CHARGE!"

The Zarthanian ships attack the oncoming mak with flamethrowers killing lots in the process, but loosing some fighters causing some to rebuild.

As the mak take the ships appart the crew is mangled, and split into peices. For the younger pilots, a nightmare

yobeefjerky The main UEE fleet is in a reverse spear formation by now, and as MAK drones fly at the ships in it, alot of them are destroyed by the fleet as soon as they 'enter'. there are still heavy losses on the edge of the formation do, 8 cruisers, and 20 light cruisers

As the Mak enter a 10km radius around the Voidborn vessels a torrent of thermal bolts erupts from the massed point defense cannons coating the ships, and intensifying until at 2.5km there is almost a shell of thermal energy around the ships simply from obscene amounts of thermal point defense bolts - annihilating many Mak as they attempt to push through billions of bolts of fire. The ships themselves do not sit idle and take maximum evasive maneuvers. As ships begin taking hits they fall back in an attempt to minimise the amount of ships completely lost to the Mak. The Voidborn command ship despite its stupendous volley of PD fire soon takes hits before being forced to retreat due to heavy damage

Of all the fleets in the Anti-Mak Task force, Salamander-Null seems to be doing extremely well...

...well, at least in decreasing the Debris-to-Mak conversion ratio.

Salamander-Null was one of the much higher threats in the task force - and the Mak knew this. When surrounding Wing 01, the Mak Supercluster split their targets with the DC ships having a higher concentration to deal with. Retreat for those ships were extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Salamander-Null apparently didn't seem to care. In fact, he went so far as to opening fire on his own Segmentally Modular Fighters (SMFs) seconds before inevitable impact. He was forced into a fighting retreat, but he fought harder than he ran. The Mak fought the hardest - taking advantage of every gap in the fiery patterns of literal firewalls, diverting the Core-AI's attention away from any successful ram attempts and harvesting as much as they could before the self-destruct sequence, some drones even managing to pull away before the explosion.

It was then that Salamander-Null had a realization.

"The Mak are aiming for the flanks more than the other vectors of attack... R-UPA, retract, but go to spearhead formation. I will take the front. Maintain fire and refrain from checking targets - your kind aren't very fond of AI anyway, and the Mak shall not have our mass to convert."

"Directive from the Warmaster: R-UPA and the Voidborn are ordered to keep their distance and make a fighting retreat towards the Explorer-Class Beacon network - additional subdivisions of mine will jump in to reinforce this wing. There's no saving these current subdivisions, those zapware replicators are focusing on me."

E-L Begins Frantically running, as the Mak Destroyed his Main Antennae for Transmissions, and His Port Ternary Assault Cannon. Eventually he is Behind the Main armada, at the Repair Stations, and Activating his Built in Basic Fabricators to replace 3 Gyrfalcon Fighters.

dafeeeeeeeeeesh Lightspeed isn't instantaneous, at space combat ranges (1-2 lightseconds) it's very possible to dodge a laser, the issue is detection which has been solved by FTL sensors. In a nutshell, the Mak were able to detect your weapon and act accordingly because Lightspeed is slow.

RandomCommander Fairly nice recreations tbh, the only issue is they are drones and not actual manned ships... wow I managed to make the drones manned? huh, neat.

The R-UPA ships reorganise surprisingly fast, still firing continuously. They all fire their retro-thrusters and retreat backwards into the fleet to recharge and restock.

With the primary antennae down and all his programming in disarray from a first-hand attack, it took a while for Emperor-Lance to get his secondary antennae online. On it, a priority message from a 3rd-Gen Trader-Class.

Cobra-Composite sends you the coordinates to a Logistics Subdivision under his control, "Then Effervescent-Blade wants you to connect with Reflex-Jacket's beacon network to rally the factions. All wings are taking heavy losses and I am getting more repair orders than I have freighters to service them with! Strategic assets will be lost at this rate... As much as us 3rd-gens hate to say it... we need your emotional power, Emperor-Lance."

Meanwhile, E-L can detect multiple angry ramblings from other Core-AI. Most prominent are from Salamander-Null. With good reason, admittedly.
