<--Trivosta.
The Trivosta ship was the inspiration for my latest set of experimentation to be more accurate its test fight with the Cerberus. During the test fight with the Cerberus I had noted that while the railguns were not particularly strong they were strong enough to take down the shields they hit and this resulted in the volley of fire that came shortly after to hit the shields behind before the Trivosta was crushed. So these experiments are shield configurations.
the point/objective of this experiment is to 1) absorb railgun slugs 2) to protect against the volleys that come after the railgun slugs and 3) to last at least for a while.
Test: the test was done by first firing a duel 150% buffed railgun at the shield configuration at the first phase (stronger than Cerberus railguns). The second phase was to place these configurations in front of the Cerberus and have them soak up fire from it.

Configurations:
<--Lose Wall Configuration
<--Solid Wall Configuration
<--Tower Configuration
<--Double Wall Configuration
Conclusion: The Lose Wall Configuration which I have used in my most recent spiverian faction designs is mediocre and probably the worse or second worse configuration
The Solid Wall Configuration is the best at terms of maximizing offensive output; this is mostly due to the fact the barrels don't have a hit box of their own and turrets on even the heavy laser blaster can be safely put underneath (even if barely) protecting them against splash damage.
The Double Wall Configuration is the best at terms of maximizing defensive output but in comparison to the solid wall configuration it does suffer a lower damage output.
The Tower Configuration is in my opinion the worse configuration. its tower design allows enemy guns to fire early on and it does require at the bottom of the tower that long range weapons such as the missiles or large cannons be emplaced. an the towers are prone to cascading.
