How do people build/test big ships quickly?

I'm trying to make really big ships (~5mil for armor outline) but when I'm halfway though, I have to wait 5-10 seconds after placing a single room on blueprint mode. It obviously gets even worse when testing ships. How do people make giant ships without needing to make coffee every time they place a room?

Also, how do people fill up so much space in giant ships? I usually fill space in my builds with armor, but that goes as well as you may expect.

ooouuuuuii I use fire extingshers they are more expensive but lighter an it helps against fire. That said sometimes gaps an etc. Are used to create aesthetic.

As for testing change the alligeance and put it on normal ai in creative an do the same for the ship its fighting.

Take an example to this, copy + paste modules for quick placement. Useless gaps are left open to decrease weight and improve computer performance. (Also, don't go too big, the largest ship my computer can handle without lag-issues on 1/4 speed costs 16 million.

ooouuuuuii Make sure You pause and slow time, it helps. also I agree with building parts of the ship separately because that also reduces clumping of quarters or worse, reactors.

DraconisTheWyvern I know how to test ships, I'm asking how to do so without a stupid amount of lag.

ooouuuuuii Use blueprint mode, low graphics settings, pause the game, close background programs, make sure to not hire crew.

maybe you can use the speed set mod too,even though it will make your game really slow,but at least it will make your game playable
