It's pretty powerful as it has two large cannons, an ion beam, and two shields protecting all three. It's capable of destroying default ships that are more expensive than it in an AI battle. It's main flaw is that it doesn't have that much armor on the front and sides. It attempts to make up for this with the two shields that are well supplied.
Edit: I was changing the ship as I was making this post so I forgot to update the price, crew, and mass... oops. The actual ship was up to date, though.
