  • Cosmoteer Design Contest (Bounty hunter ships)

Deadline to submit ships

Event Format

  • Participants can submit their ships by posting in this thread or contacting IVIemories on discord
  • A number of finalist ships will be selected by moderators for community voting (based on number submitted)
  • Walt will veto any ships he feels to be not well suited for inclusion in Bounty Hunter
  • Community votes on selected ships to decide contest champion
  • Top three ships will be added to the game as bounty hunter enemies (plus any additional ships Walt personally picks)
  • Winner of the contest will receive discord rank and forum flair
  • The designers of any ships added to Bounty Hunter will get their name in the game credits

Guidelines

  • There is no minimum budget, but please note that ships which serve no purpose or are not appropriate for Bounty Hunter will not get past the moderator voting phase
  • Ships should be strong but incorporate built in weak points that can be exploited in combat
  • Try to match built in bounty hunter ships in terms of strength
  • Ships built purely for combat (pure walls, death cubes etc) are unlikely to pass the moderator voting phase
  • This is a design contest, so please don't try to stuff as many weapons as possible into your ship; ships should be visually appealing as well.

Notes and rules

  • Budget limit of ₡ 2,500,000
  • Mods are NOT allowed
  • Both form and functionality will be considered when selecting finalist ships
  • Paint and decals are considered when selecting ships
  • One ship per participant
  • You are not allowed to change your ships once you have submitted
  • Ships MUST be functional
  • By submitting a ship to this contest, you are giving Walt permission to include that ship as a built-in ship in Cosmoteer, if he so chooses

  • Discord rank (Master of design)
  • Forum flair
  • Your name in the credits if your ship is chosen to be added as a built-in ship

IVIemories Here is the Emperor, a 1mil+42K Vanguard-killing ship,^ mostly missile based but not overly OP, includes EB and Large cannons.

          Lightning MK 2 (Brotherhood retrofit)

          Mass: 103.1 Tonnes
          Crew: 30 Souls
          Value: 126,800 Credits

          • Utility/Escort ship
          • Lore: The Lightning MK 2 was originally designed by Nebula Private Starship Manufacturers, as a military grade escort and utility ship. They were frequently requested by the Lightning Union, who loved the ships so much, they bought out the blueprints for themselves. After the Lightning Union formed the New Scavangers, the ship was heavily modified to utilize the new technology available. Despite it's small size, it is often used to carry precious goods, thanks to it's heavy armaments, small size and quick speed.
          • Although it is great against 1 on 1 battles thanks to it's heavy frontal armor, it has various weak spots on the sides, such as exposed reactors and thrusters. It can be taken down by a duo of small ships. It does boast an impressive amount of dakka for such a small ship however.

                                                This ship is made to tank damage, and dish back a helping of cannon shots. However, it is a bit weak to a combo of Ion beams, missiles, and electrobolts. I would say its.... Expert maybe? At most Vanguard.
