So this faction is linked to @Alpha's faction involving Morgoth, in that it was inspired by it, and they both have roots in J.R.R. Tolkien's literary works of The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings.
WARNING: Backstory knowledge of the Silmarillion required for an understanding of this faction. The starting post can be found here: https://forum.cosmoteer.net/d/7018-melkor-the-elder-king/310
As Feanor and his sons arrived with the last of the Elves on the shores of Valinor, they went straightaway to the White City, Tirion the glorious, stronghold of the Noldor and the city of which all other citadels are but a pale shadow. During the smith's long absence, the Noldor who had rebelled and gone to Middle Earth to die had slowly been reembodied over time. The last of them had emerged but weeks ago. In the city, a festival to honor the fall of Morgoth was underway.
But as soon as their spirits entered the city, Feanor and his sons suddenly found themselves at the house of the King with brand new bodies. For in secret, Finarfin, the brother who had turned back had repented of his treason against his family and had spent the interval of years working against the Valar, developing new technologies and wonders to take the Noldor and their supporters far from Valinor.
He greeted his brother and nephews with open arms and warm words. And when the Valar learned of this and sent an emissary to demand that Feanor surrender himself to them for judgment, the emissary was met at the gates by Feanor's own nephew, Finrod.
The emissary rode up to meet Finrod, crying out "Hail and well met, mighty King. But I am here as a servant of higher powers than you, and I demand that the Great Kinslayer and his sons be sent to the Ring of Doom, that they might face justice for their crimes."
Enraged, Finrod drew his sword and leveled it at the other elf. "Hah! You think we, who once made Morgoth tremble in his halls at the sound of our trumpets, shall now submit our best and last hope to your slave-holding masters? I am Finrod Felagund, Lord of lost Nagrothrond, and you can return to your masters with this statement: "Utúlie’n enaurë!" "
