You may or may not have seen the Mass Disitegrator before. It was originally supposed to come out in 0.14.2, with the Heavy Laser Blaster, but got moved to 0.14.4 and then moved all the way back to the Road map.

If you're too lazy to do so, the trello sums it up pretty well:
"A 2x3 weapon with a 2x2 turret, similar arc to the Laser Blaster. Fires a rapid stream of plasma shots that are weak against shields but melt armor. Like the shield, when it runs out of power it needs to fully recharge."
It was also a replacement for the Gattling Laser gun (Which I desperately wanted)

The part "weak against shields but melt armor" caught my eye, but until today, I dismissed it.
However, a random shower thought hit me. What if the Mass Disitegrator did very little damage to shields (or even bounced off) as described, but due to the materials the armour is made of, does more damage to it than to, say, a corridor.
I'm suggesting a new way of damage. Being able to damage a part based on an ID.
Remember the SelectionTypeID that can be found on the armor? It could be used on a new Damage block like so

That's just an example, but something similar could be useful. Even if the Mass Disitegrator doesn't utilize this in the end, as a simple modding tool, it has uses in other places. I do have a couple more ideas in terms of the Mass Disitegrator, but I just wanted to get this one out there and suggested first before putting them up.
