There were four once united.
The cryo crystals (Iccani), searing wrath (Makosami), stormed dashers (Shokahami), and the titanium plasmites (Tz'y'gorn).
Each served a role.
The decided fate of the western MW Galaxy
Their allies, the Kalomerians were politically divided until at last they had broken out to an organized rebellion.
The Rebels, Brehamerii, were plotting this all along and made all investments beforehand to research, full well knowing the tactics of the Kalomerians. The first systems breaking off were systems closest to Jakla, located on the Shokanhami's Border Territory to get a firm start. Their strategy was to capture the systems furthest from their home planet. Unfortunately the Kalomerians had allies as well. They were one lost half of a powerful species, the Promocae. They had a wide-known reputation for a great offensive in naval combats, although they were terrible in stealth and defensive positions.
This war was gonna last a long time, from their predictions. They had to resort in ambushes which were usually ineffective due to radar. Battle after battle and no progress. At last the Shokahami and Brehamerii had finally reached the main position of the armies and tried to flank them. A blast cannon misfired and hit one of their ships, revealing an unprepared stealth formation. They tried to produce more ships but at this current rate the Kalomerians were pushing the Brehamerii right to their source. The Shokahami surrendered, one against two. The rebellion retreated to a set distance. The shokahami 950 warp units, the Brehamerii 4250 warp units (nearly half the entire galaxy!!)
The formation of the new three
Decades later, Four random of the military agreed to a forbidden experiment not known. This involved transforming them almost completely in nature.
Two were sent off into a cold sapphire world, the other sent to a flaming metal world close to the star.
About a century later, they had fully adapted, and had gathered sufficient resources. No one expected them to be able to survive, but after enough foraging a lot had been discovered on the planets.
They'd also managed to find the resources for starships intended for quick resource-gathering on other planets (They couldn't survive too long for obvious reasons), and forgetting their origins, sought an alliance with the Shokan.
The Tz'y'gorn were built as scouting units that were eventually developed to become a full-on contact unit that was prepared for anything.
Andromedean Contact
The only Andromedean species they've had contact with so far are the Kestari, which are actually right in the gap between MW and AD.
Treaty with the Promocae and Tyrokil
A few centuries later.
For now, defending the northern front while expanding to the east was complicated, and they didn't want to defend against everyone from an unattended barrier so they sent a small group. The Promocae almost reacted but the Tyrokil told them that they knew what was going on. The Tyrokil could sense everything around them, although they can't see into the future.
The Shokahami communicated a non-aggression treaty, along with giving the Tyrokil the planet of Jakla, which they had still inherited long after the civil war. (I play too much total war to think of actual treaties that would make sense here)
Contact with a new species
After the civil war, the Brehamerii had split into two groups as they didn't want to right into the galaxy core (They learned this from an ancient species). The group that went southward encountered a strange gelatinous species that could break inertia and reach a long destination within seconds that average ships would take minutes or even hours.
The Shokan Union would eventually run into them some time later.
This time they seemed to have dark orbs inside themselves. (They seemed dark because of the nature of things inside each other being). The creature stops in front of one of their ships and assumes a diagonal position. Seemed as though those ships looked familiar.
A new code that didn't appear on past records hit them. Was it a flanking ship communicating at a convenient time? The screen showed a green Plant inside a grey-looking orb with a hint of the very same blue-green that the jelly-blob had.
The plant spoke, but it had no record of the Shokan dialect.
Lieutenant 5th Ramray was confused.
The plant recognized confusion and tried speaking the Triamiurran dialect (The Brehamer's southern group)
?unknownplant: You guys look familiar, but I can't really tell.
5th Ramray: We are members of the Shokan Union.
Just then a Makos ship misfired, significantly damaging Ramray's ship.
Sensors were gone. This was taken as a declaration of war.
The blob routed before the plant could say anything else.
Suddenly a blue ship approached. Then it turned yellow. It had more coming with it.
The Tz'y'gorn ships fired at the makos ship, and then chaos broke from there.
Appearance
The Shokahami are a sapient species with yellow fur, brown eyes with a radiant dandelion pupil. They have flop ears, orange hair, and three yellow horns. They also have a tail, and their skin is thick. They can electrocute anything at their will.
The Iccani have one horn, and are really reflective. They have blue eyes and don't have much differences from there. They can freeze anything close by.
The Makosami have two horns and their fur is really dark. The only thing their fur even gets colored by is fire. They can spew hot flames when needed.
The Tz'y'gorn are a robotic species that have a large cylindric camera, and a sphere-like frame. They have a green core and two floating pincers.
Ship Design
The Shokanhami ships are usually back-round front-flat with a brown base, with orange and yellow usually highlighting the power lines. They usually have Anti-Shield weapons and sensor jammers.
The Iccani ships are really reflective sticks with a railgun that counts Ice for ammunition. The Blue-ish wings at the front of them cause an area of weakening, effectively reducing the power of ramming ships.
The Makosami ships have a rusty brown stick base with eight blue wings (four overlapping each other)
Each of the wings usually having magma blasters, with the stick having a experimental Kantonium (A teal scorching substance that is designed to split under high impact).
The Tz'y'gorn ships have quite a bit of interior thrusters that only they can access, with armor-damaging weapons.
