Cosmoteer "unstable" release candidate 0.14.4_rc2 is now available for testing! This fixes a small number of issues with RC1.

Changes (in addition to those already in RC1):

Restored the "Start ships with full power & ammo" multiplayer option. It is on in all of the built-in rulesets.
Bugfix: Penetrating weapons (cannons and railguns) were doing one more tile of penetration damage to the first hit part and penetrating one tile fewer than was intended.
Bugfix: When creating a new ship from scratch, the first part added wouldn't update the crew/power stat bars.
RC Bugfix: Crash in Arena mode if a ship is destroyed by a junk ship.
Modding Bugfix: Crash when a loop of AmmoStorageProxies is created.
Modding Bugfix: Crash when spawning a ship with full ammo/power if the act of giving an ammo storage component causes other components to be added/removed.

There's consistently that glitch where the "Close" button blocks after an MP game for every player except the host.

The bug fixes that stick out for me are:

ships too close in battle helper setup (with diagonal designs)
ships not moving at all, due to limited thruster activation algorithm
physics performance improvements when ships are close to each other

If I'm not mistaken even 1 thruster off the center mass should be able to move the ship anywhere. (It would start rotating the ship and then pulse the thruster only while the ship is in the right orientation to receive an impulse towards the target.)

You could try to manually autofire thrusters to archieve spins.

@Walt Is there any reason why autofire is hidden under the hamburger icon and not a button?
(sry but having a sub menu for one function only, seems clumsy)

I think it should be a button (like "fire at will" or "boost")
Would make access to fire-barrages but especially thrust impulses quicker and more intuitive.

Um, not really... I originally thought of auto-fire as more of a testing feature and not something that would be useful during gameplay. I'll think about giving it its own button, but not for this release.

SpaceCat The "uncloseable close button BUG" seems permanent.

After a game round has ended all but the host get no statistics but only a close button they cannot close.
Consequently they have to "leave&rejoin".

(Host gets statistics and can close them normally.)

This will be fixed in the stable 0.14.4 update, thanks!

workaround: if you get the "uncloseable close button" you can hold spacebar and close it.

SpaceCat Update- spacebar solution work only if you start to hold it befoe next game counter time runs out.

and button for power on/off all weapons at once could be nice too, we found during testing.

What i see as worst, is that if you upgrade to RC2, and than you try to play previous version, your ship folder does not read any ship :S

Edit, i tryed to use 13.9 version, but no ship is working there, in 14.3 it is ok.

While tinkering with spinners I found that small lasers don't compensate correctly for their own turret's momentum the same way other turrets (specifically standard cannons) do.

The lasers consistently miss while firing from the leading edge of a spinner at a stationary target:

Also noticed that railguns fire too early when you are in a spin trying to rotate towards the target - the first shots almost always miss.
(not talking auto-thrust here.)

when im testing can ion still pass through laser or not,the ships can turn,move,slow down like a real ship you just need to toggel the ion to auto fire and it will work(atleast in my testing)

CATMASTER acutally i found out it have some thing to do with control room,aton of control rooms can move the ship light speed.allso its in the stable version too

Well Autofire has become a gameplay element in many forms - that cool looking always on iONbeams ...
when cosmoteer goes: bullet hell!

... and now with "thruster autofire" it makes sense to enable it rather quick - looking forward for the clickable Auto-icon.

Walt Auto fire is really very used in battles. so special button(and bindng key) is must.
