Drakador_Chaos I understand what you're trying to tell me, but I still reject this way of thinking and I'll explain why:
Should one consider the heliocentric theories on the pretext that everything is relative to the chosen referent? Or should we take into account the complete flow of masses in the universe, in which the Earth finds itself balloted with practically no influence on the whole? Does this really bring something to mind? What does adding God bring to reflection? Did the addition of God allow us to operate our cell phones, computers, rockets? No, it's our scientific knowledge and our engineering skills. What did God bring apart from wars and divisions? A set of moral rules, not always right or intelligent and that's all. Is it not possible to decide for ourselves what to do and what not to do today? Do we still need "God"?
Personally, I think that the very concept of "God" is a relic that has become more embarrassing than anything else, and that it is only a matter of time before all of this finally disappears. From my point of view it is obvious that "God" is basically only an argument of authority, the evolution of religions over the centuries shows it well: We started with spirits of nature to impress the peasant lambda and then, when the spirits no longer impressed anyone we have designed pantheons and finally we replaced the pantheons by the supreme authority argument: "I am so powerful that I created the universe, bitches! ". The reality is that the educational level of the population is catching up with them. The reality is that they are unable to imagine a stick bigger and threatening than their Hell, a carrot more appetizing than their paradise and a master more badass than the creator of the universe, religious are stuck. Because their scam becomes increasingly flagrant.
When one is interested in physics or cosmology, one encounters many situations where what seems obvious to us is severely questioned. Many factual observations are counterintuitive, such as the fact that the heart of the sun reaches more than 15 million degrees, which are only 6000 degrees on its surface, before rising to a million degrees in its atmosphere . We do not understand the phenomenon and that's why we sent the Parker probe to try to clarify that. The reasoning that surrounds the existence of God or not is above ground and primitive, they are not based on any serious observation or proven facts. One is far beyond reasonable doubt concerning the existence of God, it is a theory so wobbly that its persistence in time is due only to the extremism of its followers. In my country, in recent years, several hundred civilians have died in the name of Allah, I would be lying if I said that it did not affect my way of seeing things about it. France being the European country most affected by Islamic terrorism, but also by more discreet attempts to impose religious obscurantism, as some Erdogan party activists who had threatened to burn kiosks on the pretext that the article on their president did not please them. Not to mention some cities where women can no longer go to bars or walk alone without being threatened with rape or assault by members of the "religion of peace and love".
Normally I might have agreed with your desire to maintain the status quo, but here is an attitude we can not afford anymore. We need new defenses to get through this crisis. I think the only way to put an end to religious extremism without going through a massacre is to reveal all the scam of religions and completely destroy their credibility. In any case, it is the only realistic action that is directly applicable by the populations who suffer the terrorism (since our government has decided to let us die and to forbid us to defend ourselves). Like it or not, the subject of the existence of God will once again become one of the centers of debate, because the current situation will push us in this direction. To maintain a status quo in this situation is illusory, we are heading straight for an ideological war. I dont wish it, the wars are always against the interests of the populations but, one doesnt leave us the choice, unfortunately.
