Net Framework 4.6.2 will not install

I've tried multiple times using the provided packaged installer and the linked standalone installer. Neither work and just hang there. Opening task manager the memory/usage stats count all the way down to zero and absolutely nothing occurs. What's odd is according to both the FAQ and Microsoft themselves this should already be installed in the first place as of the Anniversary update. Would love to play the game, but seems there's no way to bypass this check.

Sorry, I don't really have any advice besides contacting Microsoft support, which I'm aware is not the most pleasurable of experiences. 🙁

I ended up rolling back Windows 10 and reinstalling creators update. Now it works and no more prompts to install 4.6.2 Framework. Kind of extreme but it works.

Okay so Windows 10 Creators update has some seriously messed up memory management issues. So here's where it gets really weird, I just rolled it back, now 4.6.2 installs fine. No issues, no hangs. I really don't even know what the heck just happened there but "shrugs in confusion".

I did find somethings interesting, when it was successful, it asks you to close certain apps that make use of Net Framework:

Razer Synapse
Killer Ethernet (this is an MSI Gaming Motherboard specific to how its network adapter functions)

To that end if you're having issues clear out any running background or support apps before trying to install as I believe in some cases those are causing the installer to hang.
