This is a fleet I'm building with centralized flank boosters for exceptional lateral thrust, allowing them to dodge fire and change vector without turning.
I'll be adding new ships as I complete them.
After a failed coup against a despotic solar government, this fleet of exiles fled their home system. Since then they have traveled, ever short on fuel and supplies. They operate as a mercenary band; it's a disgraceful profession for once proud warriors, but beggars take what they can. Here and there a new ship joins the fleet - nomads, refugees, criminals, their defeated and disgraced foes - all the outcasts of the galaxy. Together, they wander the stars in search of a place to call home.
Drifter (Destroyer - 400 tons, 500k credits)
Designed to have great lateral thrust and a narrow forward profile to dodge incoming fire, it can punch well above its weight. Vulnerable to mass missiles and very fast EB/Laser ships. Practically immune to cannon fire.

Bastard (Battlecruiser) - 1060 tons, 1.15m credits
With solid weaponry and powerful thrust, the Bastard fills the role of a battlecruiser, able to catch anything it outguns and outrun anything it doesn't. It can dive in and facetank some serious firepower, but also has the option to outmaneuver sluggish opponents. The engine pods are expendable; in the event of reactor detonation, they shear off and leave the main hull intact.

Vandal (Artillery Cruiser - 600 tons, 450k credits)
Designed for cheap support fire, it has a single 300% railgun. It's reasonably fast, but has minimal hard defenses, so it needs escorts or a meatshield to run interference for it. No seriously, don't let it get shot. At all.

Gallant (Standard Cruiser) - 800 tons, 1m credits
The backbone of the fleet. Moderately armed but tough and maneuverable, it's a survivor.

Vagabond (Heavy Artillery Cruiser) - 800 tons, 834k credits
Quick enough and tough enough to take a bit of fire, it is nevertheless intended to operate from standoff range or to cripple its target before they can close. Vulnerable to anything that can keep up and simultaneously tank its significant firepower. It has twin 141% railguns with support missile launchers.

Orphan (Escort Frigate) - 240 tons, 335k credits
Highly mobile with decent firepower for it's weight, it serves as an anti-fighter and anti-corvette escort for vulnerable ships.
