The plot so far
The Galaxy is in a state of total war, in these dark times many nations rise and fall but one nation known as the, United Cyrulian Federation seeks to bring an end to the turmoil and the ceaseless conflict. You join the UCF on their quest and quickly earn the rank of Captain in their Navy, and with their help, you purchase a small ship and begin clandestine operations to help save the galaxy that has been consumed in flames.
What is Galaxy in Flames?
Galaxy in Flames is a total overhaul of the Bounty Mode, this mod replaces nearly all aspects of the the bounty mode adding new worlds replacing the Built-in library with extremely tough, cost effective designs, adding and tweaking the difficulty modes replacing the starting ships with much better ones (you'll need them) and replacing the Cosmoteer logo ship so you know this mod is activated.
Why did you make Galaxy in Flames?
I made Galaxy in Flames specifically to get better at ship building, get better at modding and to fight against much more competent and difficult opponents. This mod is also meant help train people to build better ships, and be overall better, for tournament play. I say to help with the tournaments since its currently dominated by one or two players that wipe the floor of everyone else.
Can I get really get better at tournament play by playing Galaxy in Flames?
Yes and no, Yes you will be forced to play against and get to study much more competitive designs however they are not explicitly for tournament play as there is some extra nuance in a tournament setting I can not capture in the mod. It is bounty mode so you can still cheese the system so what you put in will be what you get out
Any planned weapons for this mod?
Yes, i have several on the drawing board so expect those in future updates of this mod.
If this mod is for players trying to get better at the game why add extra weapons?
While it is true that this mod is leaned more to being difficult I am not against having more toys to play with. I am trying to make the weapons in such a way that they distract as little as possible from the main point of the game which is getting better at Cosmoteer but still add some flavor to the base experience.

Can I submit designs to be implemented into the mod?
Yes you can, however I will be extremely through in inspecting the design and if i don't think its up to snuff i wont add it into the mod.
What are the criteria you judge submitted ships on?
I judge ships on combat effectiveness solely, a ship must be able to beat all if the built-in and a majority of my ships in its price tier in a 1v1 pure AI duel. I will periodically update my ships to be more combat effective, player submitted ships that passed will be grandfathered in. If your ship passed and it is outdated feel free to submit an updated version and if it passes ill replace to old version.
What are the price tiers?
The price tiers are as follows:
- Tier 0 is $0 to $55,000
- Tier 1 is $55,001 to 75,000
- Tier 2 is $75,001 to 110,000
- Tier 3 is 110,001 to 165,000
- Tier 4 is 165,001 to 250,000
- Tier 5 is 250,001 to 375,000
- Tier 6 is 375,001 to 550,000
- Tier 7 is 550,001 to 825,000
- Tier 8 is 825,001 to 1,200,000
- Tier 9 is 1,200,001 to 2,500,000
- Tier 10 is 2,500,001 to 5,000,000
- Tier 11 is 5,000,001 to 7,500,000
- Tier 12 is 7,500,000 to 10,000,000
Where do my ships go if they pass?
If your ship is really good and passes it goes into the "arena" worlds. These world offer more of a challenge and more reward than the regular worlds and "randomly" picks ships in a tier range to fight you. Not only that but once in an arena world the enemies come to you so be prepared!
What are the Arena worlds and their price ranges?
The Arena worlds and price ranges are as follows:
- Mob Fight : 5 Tier 0-3 ships
- Blind Fight : 1 Tier 4-7 ship
- Blind Doubles : 2 Tier 4-7 ships
- Blind Triples : 3 Tier 4-7 ships
- VIP Fight : 1 Tier 8-10 ship
- VIP Tag Team : 2 Tier 8-10 ships
- Title Fight : 1 Tier 11-12 ship
