Walt Well, it depends how often you can use your teleport. In case you can perform jump quickly enough, than there no need for thrust. and 100K just for blink drivew, is ok.
What about 200K ships, how they can afford 100K blink?
And 4 FTL is 40 000 + each 8 crew+ each 1 reactor for reasonable loading up of FTL is total cost of 138 000 credits, so total cost for blink on 1 mill ship will be 100k per blink drive, + crew + energy so in case of more expensive that FTL we come to 20-25% of cost of 1 mill ship?
I think it'll be a very powerful ability for both offense and defense
totally agree.
especially if you have a good alpha-strike.
but iif I can afford 10% more than you to invest in offence, than my alfa strike will be more poverlfull and you loose.
Or i cann have equal alfa strike and invest 10% on more durability, so your alfa strike will not be efective, or i can just invest 10% to agility and simply dodge your alfa strike.
Problem is if blink will be to much expensive, than all its advantage will be eliminated by just simply much stronger opponent. And in case that people are even not wiling to spend 1% on 2 mill ship for sensors, shows that every bug matters.
And blink just for big ships is more or less for that who enjoy megaships, but people usualy play with ships to small for usage of blink.
And last but not least, i just build FTL test, and it takes over 30 sec (speed 1) for this to load for jump(screen below). So more expensive blink for jump every 30 sec is planned like 20% of my budget
Will I jump far enough and enough often to be capable fight equaly with ship which has 20% advance in budget?
