A While Back, I was testing a cannon that composed of an Ion Beam and Several lasers inside of it, as to create a new "Weapon". But, Lasers cannot shoot through each other... Which resulted in the test being a failure. But, then something interesting happened: It actually looked pretty good, filling In what would otherwise be an empty void.
So, after some quick Building, Copying, and Pasting, I've Created these four examples of... "Weapons as Accessories". Given, It would not be too useful in combat, but the result is quite interesting nonetheless...
USING CANNONS:
Using Cannons results in a Metal Railing, almost resembling a ladder in nature. It could be useful to simulate small metal beams to connect parts of a ship together, potentially useful for "In Progress" or industrial ship designs. It's Useful, but not too visibly Pleasing.
USING LASERS:
It's... Beautiful. It looks like a sort of Military Sub-Module for a Railgun or Ion Beam. It gives of a feeling of something Futuristic, yet Militarized. This is a very Visually Pleasing Aesthetic in general... It could help spice up many Different Designs.
USING ELECTRO-BOLTS:
The Sheer Smooth Texture of the Electro-Bolts give you yet another Futuristic Vibe, but Much more So. The way the two Casters blend into one another is truly a sight to behold; Sleek, Elegant, and full of Beauty. But, It has similar Applications to the Regular Laser Turret, although this would be useful to show how those designs would look in the future.
USING LARGE CANNONS:
Although it's Similar to the Regular Cannon, It's features are more Pronounced. It may be useful when combined with Regular cannons for Visual Effect. The Barrel of the Cannon is now visible, creating a bulging in the middle. It begins to give off a feeling of sheer power.
So, You may be wondering about Beams, Railguns, and Missiles. Well... They Cannot go this close to each other, Unfortunately. But, with the weapons that can go this close to each other, you can move one of the Weapons further by a block; In some cases this will create a whole new design, and With the Large Cannon you can force the Cannons one block closer together as well.
So, what are your thoughts on this discovery? Do you think this might be a new way to improve designs aesthetically?
