David623 And it looks decent, man 🙂 But I cant get over things that look good, but have minimal functionality. Just by glance, it looks like a pirate ship, but doesn't function like one. Again, nice shape and decals tho

It function semi enough to a regular standard(even though i didnt even intend it to be so cause i just place weapon to place that they look cool and plus interior later on)
mainly cause people are just gonna see the outside ship file,so why place your weapon in good logistic place but potentially hindering to the look

David623 My ship is chunky, but I cant have it looking useless, which is why I kitted it out a bit. It Sorta looks alright, and can survive In vanguard for a relatively long time. Proud about the name the most tho

I wanted to get the 1000x1000 grid In the game. and basically make a massive railgun the entire length, but I knew I would call it the "single shot deep penetrator", so I stopped myself

rail too thin to be a spinal for even a medium sized ship,hence why i had to resort to mod to get some more porportional weapon(it also help that to balanced most roof weapon,they make them rather big)

Unless there are any fighting then i might go into detail of weapon so i make the best out of them while stilling looking good,but not the case for this event so i just mainly focus on the shape,the shading and the paint

David623 Yee, I just think it looks better if somebody can glance at it and think "Damb, this works". But that's just my opinion, I know most people focus on just the aesthetics In these challenges, but a pirate ship should look like it can get past the amateur stage without getting rekt by a junker

They cant even see through much of the interior on mine(blame star decal for allowing me to stack up to 5 different shade of rust orange and 5 different shade of black to white)(not counting the original layer+ extra paint layer)

David623 I cant tell much from these pics anyway, when I zoom in on my laptop, the missile batteries just look fork heads and generators look like tins of sainsburies own tomato soup

If i can recalled from the last design event,about 10 or something design get picked by mod and walt
then get put up for community vote
Can definite see possible finalist such as from kanisaci,equalizer,jesus,Dibs,Dalas,darkknigth
Abit of a shame that several previous design event participate(star,octo) didnt participate

So i was wondering why people didnt use a coupe mod to make thing more fitting like a bigger control room to fit the scale of the ship

Answer is very easy, not many of us has enough time to check all MODs.
So we have to believe that we get lucky and not loose time by searching for some useful mod, and most of us just do not waste time and concentrate to vanilla builds only.
Even Vanilla ship designing is shattered enough, to make for one person almost impossible, be good universal builder.

If ill be honest with you,building and painting doesnt seem that long to me atleast
The ship frame took about 15 minute(cause i use line tool + i already search up a fair amout of ship image)
Putting all the internal weaponry,shielding,generator took me another 45 minute or so
Shading took about 30 minute
putting in all the rust,paint coat and change back and forth took about another 45 minute
And that not mentioning the fact that star decal mod was bugged,so i crash about every 3-5 minute

This ship was hijacked from the corporation Istark Industries by the pirate Baron Garlock. The ship went through many battles and each left its mark on it. At the moment it is the flagship of the Baron and represents a serious threat despite poor maintenance and damage.

IstArck This is really starting to push what can be considered 'functional within it's context'

I will accept it as an entry this time, but please be aware that ships which are more paint than parts will not be allowed in the future.
