There are also Protective coverings on each of the Twincruiser's Ion Beams, as well as Overall just Quality of life upgrades, as to increase the Ship's efficiency in general.
As for Quark Fluid, it's the Primary Fuel of the FTL Drive. You know how your ship Dissapears Piece-By-Piece during a jump, In Layers? That's what Quark Fluid Does. When Energized, it accelerates your ship's Mass, Piece by Piece, towards your targeted location at Faster-Than-Light speeds. The Stuff's Complicated, but it's easy to put in an easier to understand Mannerism, such as what I just told you. As for how it allows your ship's Quarks to achieve said speeds... It's Much more complicated.
If a Control Room detects a routing error that would result in the Ship dissipating into nothing; as if it would touch something, then the Drive will create enough space from the separate mass to Re-Create the Ship without damage. In a sense, however, that means we "Die" every single time we Jump. In a way, We've lived many lives by now, yet we never notice it..."
After this Speech, Drake would Relax by drinking his Soda, which seemed to simply be Carbonated Juice. FTL drives are truly complicated, but it isn't Impossible to explain them... At least partially.
