"abscondita est mortis" Furtive War Hawk slogan
The Furtive War Hawks are a Bounty Hunter Group that primarily goes after fugitives and criminal organizations on contract from local law enforcement agencies. However on occasion the have been hired by local governments go on clandestine missions out of the normal Bounty Hunter realm. Though Furtive War Hawks are part of their own Bounty Hunter group, some lone wolf Hawks recruit other cheaper Bounty Hunters to help them on their hunts rather than pay the premium to recruit other War Hawks.
In fact one of the few well known War Hawks known as Solaris recruited several bounty hunters that were not War Hawks to keep more profit for them-self. The hunt Solaris was on was for a up and coming warlord that had wiped out several sectors of bandits and military escorts. Solaris waited in the war path of the warlord until they arrived. Upon the warlords arrival Solaris ordered the hired bounty hunters to flank the warlords ship though they were quickly dispatched by some other ships in the warlords fleet while Solaris was engaged with the warlords flag ship. Out numbered, out gunned, outmaneuvered, and heavily damaged Solaris warped out of the zone and retreated to a friendly port several systems away for repairs. Solaris was quoted saying in an interview "Thankfully my ship was fully insured" later in the interview Solaris stated "Never get cheap help " "..I always get my Bounty and this will be no exception. I will get this warlord and bring them to justice sooner or later."
True to their name the Furtive War Hawks would rather not be mentioned in the news on the capture of targets or the destruction on criminal organizations. While most bounty hunters in this group prefer to be secretive about being in the origination some publicly announce their membership to be in the lime light. Due to there reputation among criminal organizations capture for War Hawks mean certain tortuous death and known War Hawks are often hunted down by assassins.
The Furtive War Hawks are a large enough organization that they commission their own engineer teams to design their ships however the mass production of ships is often auctioned out to established manufacturers. The ships of the Furtive War Hawks are fast heavily armed and shielded but generally lightly armored.
The Uziel is a light scout ship used by newer members to capture lesser bounties or used by veteran bounty hunters teams as a scout.
The Tiburon is a medium fighter used by newer and veteran members alike to capture lesser bounties and to help defend larger bounty hunter ships.
The Battle Hawk is a support frigate usually reserved for fleet use popular among poorer bounty hunter groups that need a cheap ship that packs a lot of punch.
While the not most powerful frigate in the Hawks arsenal the Gladiator makes up for this with large amounts of AMS hard points. Very popular with veteran bounty hunters who don't like operating in a fleet but also good for fleet use as an anti-missile support frigate.
The hellspawn is a frigate designed to engage smaller fighters and to cover fleet flanks. Due to its lack of AMS hard points it is typically not outside of fleet use.
The Vindicator is a cruiser with a similar role to the Battle Hawk except the Vindicator is far more fully featured with shields, and small cannons to help with ships that get too close. Primarily used to destroy fighters and support larger ships.
The Warhammer is a cruiser that most veteran bounty hunters view with envoy while certainly not the most powerful or beautiful ship in their arsenal it has a good amount of power, speed and protection at its cost making it an excellent choice for bounty hunters that do not like working in fleets.
The Mad Dog Cruiser is made for bounty hunters who are obsessed with speed. Often their captains go after bounties that have eluded capture due to their extremely fast ships which often result in high speed pursuit through through an asteroid field.
The Slagmaiden is a destroyer that is usually reserved for the more "famous" of bounty hunters. Generally captains of Slagmaidens take high risk bounties on rogue military elements, drug lords and warlords.
The destroyer called the Catapult is generally reserved for fleet use as a "sniper" overwatching other bounty hunter ships while going on very dangerous hunts. If a Catapult it being targeted by an enemy ship it can reverse move faster that most ships can go forward while continuing to be able to fire at the encroaching enemy.
The Ballista is a destroyer that is used with "things go to hell" generally meaning that the bounty is too difficult or dangerous to capture and needs to be "persuaded" to surrender.
The Nova destroyer has been obsoleted due to recent advances in rail gun technology. However it is still used blast into strongholds so that bounty hunters can enter them assuming the stronghold has had it external weapons blasted off..
The Battlemaster capitol ship is used by successful bounty hunter fleets as a heavily armed command ship. Difficult to destroy due to is very fast speed and heavy fire power. Few ships can match a Battlemaster in 1v1 battle.
While an older capitol ship design, the Vanquisher is still used by some of the most powerful bounty hunter fleets as its flag ship. The heavy firepower and defense of the Vanquisher mean that most bounties surrender when it appears.
The newest design used by the Hawks is the Annihilator class super capitol or dreadnought. At this time only one bounty hunter fleet has this as its flag ship. This ship is so well armed and armored that that it is estimated it could take on a fleet on its own.
