LeftHandofGod well... not BLOW it up.... But make it go supernova, which would then be like an emp blast I guess. It would knock out the generators for a while and EXTREMELY close planets, or other things would be destroyed. But the shockwave would be the emp blast and some crew might be blinded by the light of the supernova.
