Hi! Recently, I have been working on some ships, while waiting on the updated release for the Star Wars mod.
I'm still pretty new to Cosmoteer, been playing only on and off for the past couple of months, so any advise is greatly appreciated!
Most of my ships are constantly being tweaked as I play test them and discover their flaws, so do expect updates to the designs below.
I will try to post the mods used for the ships. I only run 3-5 mods tops.
Mods used:
Advanced Vanilla Mod - Mainly for the repair system and shotgun PDs
Additional Weapons - Most of the hull weapons and the Mass drivers. Also roof mounted energy weapons.
Parts Galore Mod - For shields, reactors, roof mounted weapons and ENGINES!
Barrier Point-Defence - Will be used in future ships and updates!
*I'm really bad at naming my ship designs, so... do give suggestions!
Hammer the Empire Mk 8 -

My largest ship to date. Its designed as a main battleship, with tons of armor, overlapping shields and firepower. The Mk 8 is updated with disruptors to EMP enemy ship shields, while its 22 roof mounted large cannons and 24 roof mounted missile launchers tear into enemy hulls. All this fire power is backed with scores of shotgun point-defence guns and other hull mounted weapons. Included are 12 Mass Drivers, 8 forward firing and 4 rear. They are mounted on the front and the wings.
Its primary hull is design with 2 layers in mind and each reactor, ammo or missile generator is semi-isolated or armored to reduce explosion damage spread. Its primary weakness is its 2 "wings", where any damage that can get past the armor and shield generators could destroy the entire wing. It does have a repair system spread throughout the ship. To help mitigate combat damage and repair the hull mounted weapons.
Despite its large size and the use of more then a dozen shields, it has enough crew and power to keep everything running even in heavy battle conditions!
Missile Ship Mk 03 (I know! I need a good name!)

EDIT: Updated to fix the pathways to the Spitfire PD guns in the front.
The Missile Ship Mk 03 is based on the same hull as the passenger ship below. Designed as a missile boat.
Making use of the passenger ship's impressive speed, the Missile Ship Mk 03 is designed for forward facing hit and run attacks. Its primary weapon is its x12 mix emp and normal roof mounted missiles, with a small array of supporting weapons.
Its engines are strapped on to the max for forward and reversing. Lacks any sideways thrusters, something that may be addressed in future variants.
Missile Ship Mk 04

Making use of the "Ship in a shield" concept of the Solo series, the Missile Ship MK 04, seeks to fix the lack of side thrusters of the Mk 03, while including 2 extra roof mounted missile launchers on each forward "wing" for a total of 16 launchers. 4 more then the Mk 03.
Additional thrusters are also added to the rear wings to offset the the increase in weight. Internal layout is also standardized for the rear thrusters.
This design also makes use of submarine style layout for bedding. All original empty corridors are now filled with beds to increase manpower count.
The MS Mk 04 is noted to be fast, deadly and filled with a pissed off crew. Who can't wait to kill the enemy so they can go on shore leave asap.
Passenger Ship Mk 01

Designed as a fast courier or passenger ship. The Passenger Ship Mk 01 has the lightest of armor and enough engines to take it any way FAST!
Passenger Ship Mk 02

Created after the Missile Ship MK 03, as a test bed for engine layout optimisation. This updated Passenger Ship is has enough engines strapped onto it to turn on a dime and outrun anything!
Solo Series -
These are a series of quick and dirty, mostly sphere shaped, small patrol ships, all designed around the medium shield generator of the Parts Galore Mod. They are basically a "Ship in a shield", sphere shaped to fit inside the medium shield generator's shield area. All the Solo Series have Disruptors to help handle enemy shields and usually 1 other main weapon. They are not meant as self sustaining ships and all lack FTL drives.
*Note that all solo ships are evolved and refined over time and will likely be updated again as time past.
