Do’s, and Don’ts for MODDING!
jbox1
Do NOT make a part a wedge.
If the wedge is of an pre-existing shape( e.g. armor wedges) , make the wedge the part.
Had some experiences with making a wedge out of a shield in the past...oh the horrors...
jbox1 DO use version control software (like GitHub) so you can easily manage your versions and so you don't have to reupload and change download links for every update.
Also, add Sublime Text to the text editor part
jbox1 DO add language packs
Because some people have to use Google Translate to use the forums!
FireShredder24 In all due respect, most modders simply don't have the time to add the extra localisation files :/
Ofc, if you are a native speaker in a language, by all means, feel free to add them. Otherwise, it's a LOT of work.
Using what tools depends on how used or proficient or skilled people are. I use notepad all the time and only Notepad++ when hunting errors. Notepad is faster to handle and I use an old version which insist on proper line break codes. So the text is consistent and won't fail due to some bad programs.
hmm bad modding habets... i got one
DON'T Reuse the same texture over and over
It makes your mods look incomplete and cheap.
lol I use Windows Notepad
mystique Uninstall Windows 10 or to an early version or http://www.oldversion.com/windows/notepad/
