So this post will contain ideas of mine and ideas from the community but with a personal twist.
Now that I understand how most of the weapons and functional parts work, I can give better and more in tuned ideas, let's start with weapons.
Railgun (Magnetically Launched High-Velocity Projectile)
This idea has been thrown around the community for a time now, so I will add my thoughts on the idea of a railgun. This weapon is a long range, high speed and high pierce damage weapon.
The speed of the projectile is VERY fast, and as such, it can 'pierce' an enemy.
Damage from the Railgun's projectile follows this "damage flow" where pink is highest damage and blue is lowest. (http://prntscr.com/fukdno)
The cost to fire the weapon is 3 cannon ammo, and 2 energy per shot.
This requires 3 crew to man, the block is 4x3 (Facing right) and the weapon is 5x3 (Facing right).
Has a VERY long reload time.
Chain gun
This is a rapid fire, low damage weapon, having average accuracy and range.
The RoF (Rate of Fire) of the weapon is about 10-20 shots/sec (Very freakin fast)
The weapon will need cannon ammo, but it doesn't use as much as the cannon, it is 1 cannon ammo used per 75-100 shots (This may need heavy balancing).
Holds 3 Energy and needs 2 crew to run.
The block size is 2x2 and has a gun size of 3x2 (Facing right).
The damage dealt by a single shot is VERY small (2-4 damage) but will add up quickly.
Tesla Lathe
This is a short range, constant fire laser weapon.
Deals EMP damage alongside normal damage.
It can aim like a normal weapon but is like a laser in that it will constantly fire.
It's short range and powerful damage means it's a melee type weapon.
It will require energy and crew, 1 crew member to run and holds 4 energy, uses energy VERY quickly when firing.
The block is 2x2 and the weapon is 2x2.
Gravitational Ram
This is a splash damage weapon with another trick up its sleeve.
When damaging an enemy, It pushes the enemy back using a giant wave of gravity, along side dealing damage similar to a small cannon.
The wave deals low amounts of damage, but can be fatal to small crafts.
When hitting a larger craft, it will throw the craft off balance as well as causing surface damage.
Block size is 3x3 and the gun size is 4x3 (Facing right).
Slow RoF and projectile speed, but this means that the impact is much more satisfying and epic (and deadly).
Uses 3 energy per shot and can hold 6 energy, needs 2 crew to run, doesn't use ammo.
Two New Missiles
This is a slightly bigger idea but is really just using already existing damage types.
The current missile type would be considered a "Basic" type.
HE (High Explosive) Missile
This is a missile using cannon ammo, along side the missile parts.
It requires 2 cannon ammo per single missile before launch.
The result in this is a bigger and more damaging explosion.
No other changes otherwise.
EMP Missile
This is a missile using Energy, along side the missile parts.
It requires 2 Energy per single missile before launch.
The result in this is an EMP blast, disabling functional parts in a small blast radius. Deals very little damage.
Missile gains a slight speed boost.
No other changes otherwise.
For now, that's all I can give, once the game expands further I will suggest more ambitious ideas, but to keep it simple and digestible for the creator(s), this is where I will leave it (No I'm not saying the creator is stupid, I'm saying i know game development is freakin hard).
