So, are you bored of shooting pirates to gain currency and fuel?
Well the dev could change this lil' problem with just quite a huge addition to the game.
SPACE STATIONS!
Space Stations would be another way to have fun, gain currency and fuel, and make spamming Ion beams even more frustrating to others!
Though you won't be able to select from presets, you'd be able to build them!
But you will need to create station cores, which can be bought, and placed down on your liberated spot.
Though your liberated spots after from 7 to 10 jumps will have new enemies, so better protect them, since they would also allow only a select few of production rooms.
Not possible for stations:
Thrusters,
FTL drives,
Reactors (the station cores will be the main reactor),
Space Station only:
Docking bays,
Weights (so that your station wouldn't act like a paper airplane, when colliding with an object),
Production rooms,
Space station cores (if destroyed, will have to be replaced, until then, you'll have to supply it for power, at the cost of 1 power for 4 power.)
Tiny core 2x2 - 6 Power, "Enough power to act as defences, when built correctly."
Small core 2x4 or 3x3 - 9 Power, "Barely enough for a production room, but it is still possible to have a tiny amount of weaponry."
Medium core 4x4 - 12 Power, "If destroyed, will release an electric discharge, that would dissable everything in a 100 meter radius, and deal a medium amount of damage to weapons, systems, thrusters, especially shields that were caught in the discharge radius."
Big core 4x6 or 5x5 - 18 Power, "A reactor powered by nucler fission, if the reactor goes nuke -ing be sure to have your jumpsuits and your bunkers ready, since it will explode in a quite a spectacular firework show. Too much of a referance? Sorry, It won't happen again."
Huge core 6x6 - 24 Power, "Litteraly a sun in a jar. If this goes down, the gas will just cool off, and you'll have to pay quite a ransom to get this working again."
Gigantic core 8x10 or 9x9 - 36 Power, "A reactor, that is the enbodyment of hell itself, with the added cherry on the top - MEMES."
I would really like you to tell your opinion about this whole addition.(
